GameStop was selling all three systems for $600 the other dayTo put things in perspective.
With the right deals, you can get an xbox one AND PS4 for about $600...let that sink in for a while.

Nah, I'm actually excited as shyt. I guess I'm the only one on the board that bought one, but , I'll be in the real next gen come March 28th@Ciggavelli is probably looking at this thread like after the $600 investment
You're right. humanity lawst. You seen that pornhub thread with those statistics
There's a large number of people that would put themselves in an virtual reality world to fukk step sisters, black thugs, or what whatever else.
I'm not into not have full 100% control of my body which is why I don't fukk with drugs but some people would be into being in an alternate reality

That's even worse, nah I am straight.Used
You're not the only one that thinks PSVR will take off the furthest. Analysts are predicting the same. Cheaper overall and a much larger install base. I'll be getting one tooNah but seriously, I think you need to let it come out first and see how it goes for the first year or two. It's not necessarily supposed to be a huge hit THIS YEAR(Unless Sony's PS VR is sold at a great price and has a killer app with word of mouth spreading it's goodness).
I think PSVR is in a better position than other VR units because... PS4 already has 34(35?) million units out there. What's left is just the VR unit itself. The other VR units, are for PC enthusiasts which I think are much smaller in numbers than the PS4 install base. The only thing stopping a PS4 owner from getting one is price pretty much.
I have a gaming PC. I seen that the Rift requires me to have a 970... I don't have one. I have a R9 280. I'd have to go and sell my card and upgrade or just buy it outright and you're looking at at least $300 for a 970. For CPU, u need a I5 4590.. I have that part covered but what about others who don't?
The rift is $600 too.. Now hypothetically, you're looking at over a $1000 just to get the full experience. Unless your @Ciggavelli who has 4 GPU's in SLCross Fire mode with 18GBS of RAM, you gotta spend more money out of pocket.
Now I have a PS4 too. I bought that earlier this year for $200 flat brand new with games due to a price match come up.
If the VR unit is $400 or less to get the full experience, that's all I need. The barrier of entry if it's priced like that makes it easy to get my foot in the door.
You might think $100 or $200 is not a big deal and it's probably more expensive to get games yadda yadda but look at the PS4 and XB1 sales overall. PS4 is at 35 million WW and XB1 at a rumored 18Million.. That was just $100 more than the other box and also the perceived problems(can't do this, you need to do that) also hurt it. You see where I'm going with this?? That's why I say Sony is in a better position with VR right now because they got the ball in their court. They can probably sell it at a loss(and I think they even said they'll sell it at a loss) because software will make it up. Now, it'll be much easier for them to communicate a lower price and say, all you need is a PS4 and you're good to go!
At the end of the day, idk this is just my guess. It may be $500 for all we know and require waiting a minimum of 6 months for a game
I thought it was obvious man. People who deny this assume that everyone who'd potentially buy one are the same enthusiasts who post on forums talking about their frametimes and D3DOverrider and RTSS. They forget that the average person will be like "Oh shyt that's crazy!! Only $350 for THAT!?!".You're not the only one that thinks PSVR will take off the furthest. Analysts are predicting the same. Cheaper overall and a much larger install base. I'll be getting one too
Stop living in your small bubble, The PC market dwarfs the consoles. (Yes, I know some of you PC guys just spilled Soda on your Logitech Gaming Keyboard. "But what games though!?!? You can play FEZ on your Tomagotchi!)
What's left is just the VR unit itself. The other VR units, are for PC enthusiasts which I think are much smaller in numbers than the PS4 install base. I don't think everyone who's on PC are actually running powerful rigs like that. Steam can verify that I'm too lazy to look it up.

They buy it and it works. The average person is not tech savvy and understand refresh rates, resolution, FPS etc. It either works or not.

Not only that, the console market has also shown that it is not willing to pay a high premium for hardware...no matter WHAT it does. The damn console itself is half the cost of the VR.
The PS3 @ $500+ didn't sell too well, The XBOX ONE @ $500 almost sunk the division.
