A Villa Straylight.
You seen that pornhub thread with those statistics :usure:

There's a large number of people that would put themselves in an virtual reality world to fukk step sisters, black thugs, or what whatever else.

I'm not into not have full 100% control of my body which is why I don't fukk with drugs but some people would be into being in an alternate reality
You're right. :snoop: humanity lawst.

Nah but seriously, I think you need to let it come out first and see how it goes for the first year or two. It's not necessarily supposed to be a huge hit THIS YEAR(Unless Sony's PS VR is sold at a great price and has a killer app with word of mouth spreading it's goodness).

I think PSVR is in a better position than other VR units because... PS4 already has 34(35?) million units out there.
(Yes, I know some of you PC guys just spilled Soda on your Logitech Gaming Keyboard. "But what games though!?!? You can play FEZ on your Tomagotchi!)

What's left is just the VR unit itself. The other VR units, are for PC enthusiasts which I think are much smaller in numbers than the PS4 install base. I don't think everyone who's on PC are actually running powerful rigs like that. Steam can verify that I'm too lazy to look it up.

The only thing stopping a PS4 owner from getting one is price pretty much.

I have a gaming PC. I saw that the Rift requires me to have a 970... I don't have one. I have a R9 280. I'd have to go and sell my card and upgrade or just buy it outright and you're looking at at least $300 for a 970. For CPU, u need a I5 4590.. I have that part covered but what about others who don't?
The rift is $600 too.. Now hypothetically, you're looking at over a $1000 just to get the full experience. Unless your @Ciggavelli who has 4 GPU's in SLCross Fire mode with 18GBS of RAM, you gotta spend more money out of pocket to get the VR experience and truth be told, the average person ain't up on all that specs shyt. They buy it and it works. The average person is not tech savvy and understand refresh rates, resolution, FPS etc. It either works or not.

Now I have a PS4 too. I bought that earlier this year for $200 flat brand new with games due to a price match come up.

If the VR unit is $400 or less to get the full experience, that's all I need. The barrier of entry if it's priced like that makes it easy to get my foot in the door.

You might think $100 or $200 is not a big deal and it's probably more expensive to get games yadda yadda but look at the PS4 and XB1 sales overall. PS4 is at 35 million WW and XB1 at a rumored 18Million.. That was just due to the XB1 being $100 more than the other box and also the perceived problems(can't do this, you need to do that) hurt it. You see where I'm going with this?? (Just hold off on that quote button and read all the way through mayne.)

That's why I say Sony is in a better position with VR right now because they got the ball in their court. (and because Sony can do no wrong)

They can probably sell it at a loss(and I think they even said they'll sell it at a loss) because software will make it up. Now, it'll be much easier for them to communicate a lower price and say, all you need is a PS4 and you're good to go!

At the end of the day, idk this is just my guess. It may be $500 for all we know and require waiting a minimum of 6 months for a game :yeshrug:

You're not the only one that thinks PSVR will take off the furthest. Analysts are predicting the same. Cheaper overall and a much larger install base. I'll be getting one too :manny:

I thought it was obvious man. People who deny this assume that everyone who'd potentially buy one are the same enthusiasts who post on forums talking about their frametimes and D3DOverrider and RTSS. They forget that the average person will be like "Oh shyt that's crazy!! Only $350 for THAT!?!".
It's the same "ONLY Pay $29.99 a month for this AMAZING THING"(Amazing thing is some $800 Samsung Phone that'll be outdated in 6 months and will be eligible for an upgrade later.) Sony would be stupid to price their VR unit at $500. I'm betting $450 the highest. I'd be shocked if it's even lower.

VR will be here to stay in gaming for PC for sure, not sure about console. Oculus has Facebook backing it so they're invested for the long haul.

PSVR is the wild card to me. It feels like Sony is rushing to get this out with the PS4 to show the potential of VR on console and plant the seed for the next model. PS5 and the 2nd generation PSVR will be the one to make or break PSVR.

All this talk of VR and @-DMP- @Ciggavelli talking it up got me hyped to buy one right now:noah:

Stop living in your small bubble, The PC market dwarfs the consoles. If it takes off, it will take off on the PC first.

Not only that, the console market has also shown that it is not willing to pay a high premium for hardware...no matter WHAT it does. The damn console itself is just half the cost of the VR.

The PS3 @ $500+ didn't sell too well, The XBOX ONE @ $500 almost sunk the division.

Hands up who here has actually used VR?

I gaurantee most of you havent. Once youve used it you become a believer.

Kinect and that bullshyt didnt fail because it was too much to do,it failed because it served no real purpose and never had a game that can sell its use. Why would people use controls that are objectively worse.

3d at home failed because most 3d fukking sucks.

VR has to be experienced. I dont believe anybody that has actually used it wouldnt believe in it.

Its not comparable to kinect, wii or 3d at all. Youre comparing gimmicky nonsense thats amusing for 5 minutes against something that literally changes gaming for the better.

Vr IS the future

Ppl are tripping if they think console only owners would be ok paying 350+ for VR. Anything over 300$ would be received bad and consumers would create too high of an expectation for it at that price.

A reasonable launch price would be 250$ or 300$, but that means Sony would have to sell it at a lost.

IMO even $400 is too high for the console market, it has to be cheaper than the unit used to connect it to. The PC market can handle this because you have nuts like @Ciggavelli who basically have a NASA office in his basement.

@Prodigal Syndicate I don't think people are doubting the technology, it's more of a sense if it will connect with gamers. Things that stray a little too much outside of the comfort zone gamers are used to generally hasn't done well.
