1. Degrading the job of teachers to "teaching children extremely basic things" shows you really have no idea what you're talking about. More so than teaching content, teachers are responsible for upwards of a hundred kids a day. It's much more then just rattling off simple facts.

2. To say you have no need for teachers if you don't have children suggests that you have zero reliance on a functioning society, that you are 100% self reliant. This, much like your initial claim, is ignorance at it finest, Einstein.

3. I agree with you that the teacher's union is too strong, but they are taking large step towards curbing that strength. Either way, characterizing an entire group of people based on the worst exceptions is, again, ignorance at its finest. You would think, on a hip-hop forum, people would recognize the ignorance in this.

4. You are an authority, and have the data to back up the claim that "most teachers believe AA students are inferior"? That would require an awful lot of research, much more than one person could "witness first hand". Unless, of course, assessing schools is your profession. Is it?

1. In poor districts like the one I am from that is what they do.
2.Thats why I acnkowledged that exact point. You make the assumption society would fail without public education.
3 Union isnt getting any weaker round my way. Anyone in a teachers union has zero incentive to perform, That is a fact.
4 Obviously data cant prove that either way, again I acknowledged this.

So basically you live in a fairy tale in which the school system is actually worth a damn.. it aint, Especially in inner city areas. The fact is that once the free market opened for women in labor the teaching "profession"(I dont think it actually deserves that distinction) went to shyt.

SO basically

You want it to be one way, but it aint.

Why you hate teachers so much lol.

A teachers job is just as important as any engineer or congressman.

Anything is more important than a congressman, who have not done a single good thing since 1913.

So lets see. A teacher babysits kids and has them read hamlet and learn how to find a logarithm, engineers are responsible for the technology that makes the world run, including all technology teachers use. Sounds so equal.

And in 14 years of school I aint been taught by a brother once :snoop:

A teacher makes sure that the kids are up to par and can fit into society academically.

Better that than this country being full of illiterates.

Well they are definitely not helping or held accountable. They're willing participants in the systematic destruction of the young black man's self esteem. They have unlimited benefits, including plastic surgery in some places, can not be fired, have no performance evaluation, are required to have no original ideas, and they are against meritocracy. Anyone against merit based pay is nothing but a commie. Union + against merit = unamerican and unethical.

The problem with that is that there are too many variable to factor in. A teacher who sees a kid for 45 minutes a day isn't always capable of overcoming all the other factors the effect a child's growth. Performance based pay is actually the absolute worst thing that could happen to poverty stricken districts. You could be the gawd of teaching and still have poor results in some districts. There would be even less of a reason for competent teachers to work in these districts.

A lot of teachers are lazy scumbags :ld:

I know people who initially set out to be doctors or lawyers or scientists of some kind, then when the reality of all that work hit them, they settled on being teachers. All of these science majors set out to be professionals of some kind, but most end up giving up and settling on teaching, and they're resentful because of it. Who would be happy settling and earning a shyt salary? The best/nicest teacher I ever had told me she was quitting the following year to go to dental school, she was tired of those damn kids and didn't feel like she was making a difference, and she was the best teacher I had out of all the schools and classes I've ever been in.
