There's been rumours he got raped by Suge Knight, yet there's a photo of both of em and Ja Rule partying in 2000
DeVante's Supposedly been a drug addict for 20 years straight, but no posession arrests, or Overdose/hospital/rehab stories.
They approached him on MySpace in 07 (halfway thru his reign) and anyone with anear for production can tell Hit Boys sound is a 360, same way Timbaland sounds nothing like DeVante Swing. If anybody was close to being Polow's right hand, that would be Blac Elvis (guy who went on to do BEYONCE EGO) and once again you can tell Polow was utitlizing him strictly for basslins/additional melodies, because none of the stuff Elvis did on his own was masterpiece level like Promise/Crying Out 4 Me - (Polow's stuff has a distinct personality, regardless of which musician(s) he uses)
And There was never any problem with Polow leaking "Love In This Club" - it was the #1 song in the country
Lil John leaked "Yeah" back in Winter 2003 which also was a great move.Back to Surf Club, he actually put them and the rest of the Zone 4 Staff at the end of Rich Boy "Good Things' music video, same way DeVante let Timbaland get his shine on in the "Gin N Juice" remix video, let him sing the pre-hook on "Bring On Da Funk". Not sure how Polow was abusing them, when they had a dozen placements on Tiff Evans, Brandy, PCD and various mixtapes, and were in the Studio Alone with P Diddy in 2008
(as you can hear, the reason it took them 3 years to pop off is they didn't have the signature sound yet)
In the same way Timbaland left to find better chemistry, Surf Club relocated from ATL to California (which is where they orignally met in the first place). Teh funny thing is Chase doesnt work with Hit Boy no more either, Hit Boy started HS87, and Chase did Crownbearers.
Polow never got blackballed (nobody ever does), let's not forget Polow made close to 10 million one year and put it all towards hiring pepple and investing in the community and buying homes. Still to this day, he lets ppl use his studio out free of charge (makkonen and kane brown have recorded there in past year.) Just like DeVante has a mansion in NY, studios in NC & Cali People seem unaware Producers can retire early from a solid 5 yrs of work

There's levels to these happenings. For instance, I was INSIDE situations close to Surf Club & Polow. "Love In This Club" going #1 meant nothing... Def Jam was not ready to push Usher's album nor had they chose a Single... once Polow leaked it all hell went loose inside these offices & several people lost their job. This is like leaking a movie before it hits theatres & then it goes #1... yes it went #1 but the $$$ lost on rushing everything out & forcing production & engineering to move forward because ONE person felt they had the hottest record on an album... & it wasn't the first or last time...
First off, ur entire post was good and informative.
Hiwever this part is kinda bs. If things are poppin no producer willingly retires. They're usually faded out when sounds/styles change.
If Polow still had a good name his career wouldn't have just come to a screeching halt.
