Why isn't DJ Quik a bigger deal

i use to like his music a lot growing up but I never heard anyone bump it

only Mexicans liked him

He made a comeback with The Fixxers when he went dirty south and no album ever came out


His recent stuff is actually good

My old mexican roommate loved Quik.

Quik has an ear only old school RZA can match.

He was big though in the past. shyt, the Book of David was critically acclaimed a few years ago. He last album...not so much

quik never had a snoop dogg type of protege

shyt Quik didn't need to bankroll off of anybody because he's more of a musician/producer than Dre (Not takin nothin away from what he gave us but he's been more on the money side than producing music since '01) shyt he could tour and be a lab rat the next few years and do music for fun... kinda like he's been doin for years lol

I got ya and that stuff was on my mind cause of my years in Cali from '90-'93 (I was in the Bay Area but always rode to everything) Quik has touched on being in Dre's shadow but where he may not have gotten y'kno, all the glory and other shyt at least he could do the one thing Dre can't...He can touch the people in every hood 'cause from Cali, AZ, Detroit, Chi Town to Texas all the gangstas, hustlers, bangers etc will know Quik's shyt from that 1st snare, snyth, or clap
