Why is The Rock never expected to speak on black issues?

I never even see it suggested here. He's arguably got a bigger audience than any other black celebrity.

:patrice:

Inb4 "he's not black he's Samoan"

He's made it clear to anyone who follows his career that he only claims his Samoan side and occasionally his Black side when convenient.:yeshrug:

This his pops, so hes definitely a brother.

But I think The Rock is just intelligent to operate within his parameters.

Check this debate out with Sly vs. Ali...

Sly did himself no favors in this shyt. Straight c00nin all over the place. Not saying the rock is a c00n. I just think he knows he's not really vested in these issues like a Jim Brown or Abdul Jabbar.

Some people are better suited to shut and play the guitar.

Rock is a cool nikka, but that aint his lane. Especially in today's climate, u cant say shyt anymore. Not worth the risk.
