Marvel could have dropped 5 great ani flicks 10 years ago, 3 good ones 5 years ago, and 2 meh ones a year ago. People would praise the good ones, but the reality is they never dropped anything noteworthy. I don't see why people are bringing up quantity because that's not the point. :dwillhuh:

Marvel's ani flicks are just not memorable, plain and simple.
I mean simple probability disagrees with you but the larger factor is that they dont have as many because they dont care about it that much. I only know of 7 in the past 2 decades and all were independent and appeared to be made in completely different styles unlike DC.

OP it depends on what you’re talking about. If we’re talking animated movies, dc has a better brain trust there and also marvel hasn’t released shyt.

If we’re talking animated series’ tho, dc has a different edict than marvel does at the moment. Joey Q has said straight up they’re making shows for kids. Point blank. They’re not trying to layer in things for adults or make them interesting watches for teens or pre teens or young adults; he wants the kid demo and that’s it. So from a quality standpoint purely based on that level, DC will get the nod historically.

Of course they have things like justice league action and teen titans go but they’ve also got young justice with doom patrol and swamp thing on the horizon. So right now they’re willing to serve different demographics. Hopefully, eventually, marvel will do the same.

The short answer is, Bruce Timm.

Can’t say the animation is bad when one of Marvels cartoons won an Oscar for Best Animation.

Oh yes....... pulling the same card that DC cats have used. Marvel does have an Academy Award Winning film under their belt, not even trynna do no stan shyt:hubie:

Martha

Are you really mentioning Big Hero 6 as the Marvel film to win an Oscar?!

lol thank you for finally saying it. Thread was giving me a headache.

DC has had the "adult quality, that kids can enjoy" DCAU blueprint for 25 years. Mask of the Phantasm was actually released in theaters and Batman Beyond also debuted with a full movie length pilot in primetime. Plus they had the genius Dwayne McDuffie working for them. They've been building off that ever since...

:what:. A 20-minute slash fiction plot where Batgirl lusts over Batman like an anime fangirl and then they fukk on a rooftop is more than a 'swing and a miss.'

shyt is downright offensive, especially after Bruce Timm and Brian Azzarello were adamant that they added that bullshyt to give Barbara more 'depth.'

And don't even get me started on that bullshyt Oracle mid-credits scene. :trash:
