Had HBK stuck around during that time, he probably would've been a cancer to a bunch of guys, and at the rate he was going, he would've been murked on the outside of the ring, whether due to drugs or someone actually killing him. Him getting injured and being forced to take off was better off for both Shawn, the WWF, the fans, and other wrestlers. We never would've gotten matches with Angle, Hardy, Shelton, Flair, Jericho, etc. HBK's injury was a legit blessing from all sides, and this is coming from someone who considers HBK a #1 all time favorite.
