Now that disney has acquired ff4 back.
I believe we should get a shift to a shooter mike zeck idea of marvel. Where ff4 may become the flagship basis of the mcu.
How everything is set up currently.
It leans to ff4 being made into having a push to the forefront of the mcu. Realistically to make marvel work. You need reed made into whom reed is for the marvel universe to work. He is the universal lynch pen of the marvel universe. To the point reed is actually kirby. In the same way petey is the comic manifestation of ditko. That the original models of petey and reed are based on what if kirby or jack was reed. Plus what if ditko was petey.

So you probably see this shift.
With the eternals being made.

As the kinda only way to go from where we are now in the mcu.
is with reed made into the male lead moral center and focal point of the mcu.

who would become an adult married secure man who overcame real tragic grief.

That is the issue with the casting of spider man on film. They never cast someone who looks like they would grow up to be adult peter.

when i became cognitive to comics. So i don't see where any of this cast a wussie pete came from either. The skinny ditko looking petey.
had been cast away in the romita modern era pete. So i do not understand why the affinity for this pete no one was cognitive for being made into a casting decision in a modern film era as well.

Captain america's casting did the best with this idea.
Yet in three reboots of spiderman.
We continue to get a casting.
that does not resemble.
what pete would look like.
if the cast grew into the role of aging peter parker.
That has been the issue with spider man at sony.
Which i believe if james cameron would have been able to make the original spiderman. Peter's casting and ability to age in the role.
Would have been better executed. Yet since we never got that actual film made by cameron. Plus its ideas splintered into several films from other film houses. Ala kingpin in daredevil.
Currently we probably will get a venom king movie being moved to the forefront over spidey.
in relation to how sony has won with the box office of venom in their own. So we will see how every thing plays out.
The bad thing about spiderman and batman as fictional characters is the models for their secret identity were modernized. That in That modernization. The best gateway for that modernization. Was in character models.
that are complete figments of the imagination tho.

So making adult peter parker films based on marvel continuity. Could also hit a snag if spiderman is not reboot. As the modern redesign associated in general soth adult peter parker.
As a character model is a complete fictional character. Just like the modernized character model of bruce wayne is completely fictional as well.

Spider man became big at news stands and then supplemented and aided in creation of grassroots specialty stores. That became and supplemented the weekly and monthly sales of mini grociers.
to then comic book actual shops. Just off monthly readership of amazing spiderman alone.

Comic shops are dying or on death's doorstep.
simply because quality in amazing spiderman was lost at all cost.

I think Joe Quesada said it best in that the stories for Peter can't be told if he has responsibilities.

Complete nonsense, but that is the direction the character has been in since 2007.

Give me a Spider-Man game #45 before giving me a brawler character without impact like Cap, Black Panther, etc.

Quesada is an idiot, and in my opinion ruined (or definitely spearheaded the ridiculous spiral) the trajectory of Marvel.

I don't think he's disrespected at all, though. People may be currently disinterested, but he's not disrespected. He's one of the few that can be everywhere, and still be a fan favorite. And for in-universe continuuity (616), he's the one hero they all look up to and aspire to be...even when he's getting on their nerves. Cap is the one everyone respects, but Spidey is the one that inspires them to go a little harder.

Supes is the one that disrespected beyond measure.
