Long thread on the issue:
"It's the media's fault"
"It's the media's fault"
The so called cac nerds yall always complaining about aren't the media members pushing players to big markets, it's your mainstream favorites and they do it because it gets them attention from people like you.
The hilariousness of this when immediately following this post you post a bunch of Twitter links based on Casual takes.Y'all didn't have me deleting a damn thing.
I actually watched the games while they were happening. .
You munchkins just look at highlights (or lowlights) on Twitter or Tik Tok and act like you're doing something.
75 3's my nikka?Bad teams miss high volume of shots. News at 9.
Nobody said we want to see a bunch of 17 footers.Yeah, it is. There’s nothing inherently wrong with shooting 3’s. This is one of the dumbest arguments ever made in the history of sports talk, that people specifically hate seeing guys shoot 3’s and that if they’d just take 2 dribbles in and shoot a bunch of 16-18 footers instead that the people who complain would suddenly love it. Ratings were down in the early to mid 2000’s while that was so prominent. This game was played by a 7-18 and 11-15 squad. This game was ugly because two bad teams played each other. That’s all there was to it.
There’s no taking the game back to 85-90 possessions per game type ball where only 2-3 guys on the team have any sort of offensive skills to speak of and even if there was, it wouldn’t fix the issues the league has. Bad marketing and lack of accessibility are the issues. Those can be fixed at any time.
I'm not in any game threads because you young nikkaz are fukking retarded & I don't feel like arguing with y'all about shyt like this 90% of the time. The hilariousness of this when immediately following this post you post a bunch of Twitter links based on Casual takes.
You ain't watch shyt.
You ain't never in any game threads, you ain't never in any threads discussing the players or the actual game. A brief search reveals the only time you talk about the NBA is when it concerns ESPN personalities, NBA media and non-related hoops issues. You ain't watching games.
It makes no difference where they’re shooting from when nobody could create good looks, took forever to get shots off, and when nobody could shoot anyway. Outside of Shaq’s Magic & Lakers teams & the Bulls, the game was unwatchable because nobody moved the ball anymore, nobody pushed the pace, and nobody could shoot. We had a finals series go 7 games where a teams best and 2nd best player shot 36% and 36.4% on the series, and those were some of the best teams of the era. By the end of the decade the finals were being played at a pace of 82 possessions per game with a team averaging 80 points and it’s 2nd and 3rd best players averaging less than 21 points put together. Imagine how bad the average team was to watch. @Gil Scott-Heroin linked this game earlier in another thread. This was the kind of ineptitude you’d find regularly. The 2016 Golden State Warriors led the NBA 3pt shots with 31 a game.
They'd be LAST in the NBA this year
Nobody said we want to see a bunch of 17 footers.
Who's making that argument.
Just a fukking balance, you dolts!!!
Look at the BALANCE there used to be in NBA offenses in the '90s
There used to be 12 footers, 15 footers, 10 footers.
It was a BALANCE

And I just posted twitter posts to illustrate my points, you know like everybody else on this site does.

Teams barely playing 90 possessions per game, teams struggling to crack 90 points regularly, garbage ball teams being considered contenders all decade . Teams don’t shoot 3’s because they’re pretty. They shoot them because they’re an efficient way to score. It’s like comparing a vhs tape to Blu-ray or cassette tapes to cd’s. Dead tech that’s not coming back because something that works better replaced it.
It opens up the rest of the floor for everyone. If he can do it, it forces teams to play close outside the paint so he can get better looks on the inside and makes the team better. You gotta make peace with the fact that the days of every great big man being told “never shoot beyond 14-18 feet and only work on bank shots, hook shots, drop steps, and up & under moves are over. It’s safe to assume he isn’t gonna shoot 9 a game the rest of the way, but you don’t want a guy that skinny banging around on the low block all game every game. You think Wemby shooting 9 threes a game is the most efficient way for him to score?
Yes or no?
