The reason why NBA media is so bad is because they are gaslighting NBA fans into believing something that isn't organically true.
Every generation has had their GOAT(s) from Russell/Wilt to Magic/Bird to Jordan to LeBron. But the last 20 years, they've spent so much energy and intellectual capital into forcing the narrative that LeBron is better than Jordan. THE MEDIA HAS devalued the very thing that matters most, WINNING, for stats and analytics as if that matters more.
At least with previous generations you could clearly see they were better than their GOAT predecessors and changed the game in a variety of ways.
The media and Bron stans have torn down SO MANY other players it's ridiculous at this point, all to make sure Bron stays the king. All while refusing to acknowledge how team hopping has given LeBron, already a top 10 GOAT, an unfair advantage over the rest of the league, AND ruined the integrity of the league as a whole. (Actions have consequences)
Now the media has to reap what it has sowed. There is another player that is a stats KING, the likes of which LeBron could not touch, that also has a ring. And going by their criteria, should be up there with LeBron.
But right now NO ONE WOULD SAY JOKIC IS BETTER THAN PRIME BRON, but the media can't backtrack on the very metrics that they used to prop up LeBron over MJ. And now NBA fans are realizing the media has been full of deceit for DECADES. Using analytics to control the narrative on players to their detriment.
People talk about how we need a new MJ, and maybe so. But how can we trust the media to let things play out ORGANICALLY when they've been gaslighting us for so long.
There's only 1 hope, and thats the success of 1 player/team as he as everything you can ask for in a new GOAT. Accolades, achievements, rings, changed the game of basketball, wins and losses at the biggest stage, chief rivals, a real narrative, and most importantly, the absolute best in history at 1 skill.
If Steph Curry and the warriors can win the NBA championship for the 5th time, surpassing LeBron and matching Magic, Kobe and Duncan, after how he saved TEAM USA in the Olympics, in an nba environment that he literally fathered, at an older age, without his top running mate, I think it's time to put him in the top 3, and not 3.
