Why is Married with Children never mentioned when discussing GOAT sitcoms?

Actually it's the opposite. It was going against the typical wholesome family sitcoms at the time that were contrived.

That was the main appeal of the show.

Definitely one of my favorite family sitcoms.

Because it was on FOX ... at the time it aired FOX was a wannabe network ..
stuff like Married, Herman's head, gary shandling and In living color .. get dissed because FOX was an unknown back then

It is low brow and crude but that's the whole point. It was pretty groundbreaking, honestly and AL became an iconic sitcom Dad. Low key they dealt with more real shyt and true to life situations than most sitcoms.
