Because a basic jump-hook and actual jump-shot are easier to teach/learn.

Kareem's Shooting touch in General was just amazing.. He also had a face-up midrange which was money

Someone mentioned it earlier but it could be because of the body frame of the centers. Then again, most of the center today ain't that brolic or husky:dry:
