I listen to alot of pop radio (getting more and more sick of urban radio) and they play alot of uptempo, feel good type music. It may sound a bit corny and cheesy to some but overall the music has a positive, feel good vibe. I NEVER hear anything positive on radio aimed at the black community. It seems like if the content isn't about drug use/selling, how h0es aren't loyal, blacks killing blacks, extreme materialism or promiscuity then it wont get play. Why is it that black artists that make positive, feel good music only get play on radio aimed at white audiences? For example, ive ONLY heard this song on pop radio:

Why do we shun music with positive vibes?

breh are you serious here? Are you really serious making this thread? DO you realize who owns radio stations? DO you realize who pays the stations to play records? Do your realize who owns the corporations that have the funds to control media propaganda? Come on breh, you are smarter than this. The Black community have no say power in what gets played on corporate radio. When I listen to community owned radio and non-profit radio stations, progressive music is played all the time, so your OG point is not true when you break down radio stations.

You really need to work on your threadmaking homie because your points come off as shaking your finger at Blacks when you are negating socioeconomic forces, history, and critical thinking. Just sayin...

you have no idea how glad i am that you said this. :wow: Im getting tired of saying it myself:wow:
Then your thread title should have been "The Truth about who controls the music in the Black Community and why its rarely positive" and your OP should have been discussing those various points I mentioned.

That takes the anti-black twinge off your thread title. I hope you know I'm considering tossing this thread homie. Its not a good look at all.

Do what u got to do mayne but the ugly truth is that this music has brainwashed us to the point that music encouraging positivity , treating women with respect is now deemed "corny" & "lame" to many. If its not ignorant and over a trap beat they dont want to hear it. This is due to years and years of media propaganda. This is all by design and something that NEEDS to be addressed. The shift from positive to negative in the mainstream didnt just happen coincidentally. It was done on purpose. We havent had any control over our OWN music in over 20 years. And the result of that is that there are blacks that reject and shun "feel good" type music like in the OP. Be honest. Listen to the song. Can u imagine the average black youth playing that song in the whip? I love it personally, but that type of "sound" doesnt register with alot of black people. There's a reason that song ONLY gets play on white/pop stations. To delete this thread would be denying the ugly truth, and for us to progress as a people we must start addressing and tackling these ugly truths head on instead of pretending they dont exist.

because black radio stations have been bought up by "bigger corporations" and they control the playlists. and they dictate the sound track of the black community.
the bigger corporations agenda is to destroy and take over black media because black media is important for the black community. over a long period of time they've boxed black media to only be an entertainment outlet that doesn't speak on other important issues of the black community.

"feel good music" still exists in the black community but it's dying off. it's dying off because big money now dictates black culture.

This shyt is real.
While we're turning up to souless trap beats, and reciting "how go to jail" lyrics
Mark Ronson and MANY white people our appreciating/learning/ and trying to master our most prominent genres Jazz/Soul/R&B/Funk...
When I go crate digging (record shopping)... I ALWAYS see nothing but hippie white kids, and they always pull GEMS.
How/WHY do we sleep on our ancestors? :snoop:

I feel you OP(pause) and have the same questions.
With that being said Me and wifey definitely vibe out to pop radio more than urban... the energy is cleaner/more uplifting. Whether the lyrics are weak or not the music/chords/melody is what we FEEL the most. Like playing Happy Birthday in a major or minor scale..the energies are different and affect us different.

This is exactly what im talking about. The entire "spirit" of black music has turned "dark". All of the beats sound demonic and puts me in a dark place when i hear them. It really does affect the mind. Like you said, most of the songs that play on pop stations may not be lyrical juggernauts but they have positive, uplifting vibes. Makes me feel good. Makes my spirit happy. I dont get that with black music. It all sounds gloomy. Case in point, this is one of the darkest, gloomiest beats ive ever heard:

Why dont you buy more copies of the "feel good music" since you want it to do so well OP? Stop bytching about what others want to listen to or dance to. Not everyone has to like what you like. Grow the fukk up.

Read @Kritic post above yours. We dont control our own music. Poisonous, mindless, negative filth is PURPOSELY being broadcasted over airwaves aimed at the black youth. Only on black radio do u hear content about murder, extreme materialism and the gang/prison lifestyle? Why are u ok with this? Im a grown black man so it bothers me VERY much so. Its ironic that you're telling ME to grow up when you're the one endorsing music glorifying killing black people and telling young kids to "move that dope"

Seems to me like you're the one that needs to grow up. OR maybe you're not black, which then i would understand u not giving a fuk about what goes into the minds of the black youth
