I thought that too when I first listened to the album for the first time when I was 14 , but now that I watched alot of Blaxpilation films over the years I realized that they got alot of their terminology from there .

If you guys didn't know, they just released an album this year called uh...Ragtime Hightimes, and it was actually pretty good.

A very close friend put me onto that Luchini song, and I decided to listen to Uptown, and it was so damn good. The rest of their albums...i was not feeling at all, but the new one is niiiice.

There's some people that sort of disregard this album besides the singles. There's a lot of gems on here. Sparkle is so smooth. Say Word and Krystal Karrington .

I was trying to explain this in the Reasonable Doubt thread about why I didn't like "Politics as Usual". Some of those joints are RD are just too RnB for me. They're certainly not wack, and Jay-Z spits great rhymes on them, but it's certainly not on the grittiness level of Illmatic.
