Why is being a lame or square considered an insult?

Game is all about not being authentic and hiding how you feel. Thats why its called game. Plenty of folks hide behind being bad and tough. Plenty of thirsty tough nikkas out there. Being authentic and doing your own thing is key but its also something people struggle with in general.
I didn’t say nothing about game. I said express how you feel. What that means is if you find a woman attractive make it known. Don’t try to be her buddy. Don’t hide who you are. That’s the main problem a lot of “nice guys” have.

I didnt say anything about nice guys...but it fits if we talking squares and lames. You didnt say anything about game but it fits if we talking about pulling chicks. A whole lotta p*ssy is obtained under false pretenses. I'd go so far as to say most of it is. Being honest and straightforward are good things. I support them but its misleading to suggest those things are keeping nikkas dry. It all comes down to what she is feeling. Chicks buss it wide open every day for nikkas that are faking it that they were "just friends" or shyt barely acquainted with. If she feeling you none of that shyt matters. And just like we have brainwashed young men into thinking degeneracy makes you real we have brainwashed young women into thinking degeneracy is attractive.

Say breh, whats your power level then :lupe:

I wouldn't say I'ma super nikka.
But if nikkadom was rated on a scale of 1-10.
I might be an 8

Lived damn near the most stereotypical nikkaz life u could think of.

Theres a "they" ain't like us... And then there's a "y'all MFers over there too ain't look us over either"
That conversation is never had. And it's important

He said “I hate him for being corny.”

My question was “What makes Donald Glover corny? And if he’s corny then who is cool?”

It seems like no one can answer my simple question 😅

I feel u.
I'd say Donald glover is corny... And Nas isn't.

That's the first thing that pops in my head. And we can go from there

Non thuggish black men had no issues with women right after slavery and on through most of last century. There was a time when chicks were scared of the thugs. There was a time, not super long ago, when thug was an insult. Square life used to be the standard. It was only after street shyt was glorified and normalized that this fake tough shyt became a thing.

Which is the CRACK ERA of the 80s. Public Enemy was trying to warn young black folks about that, but everyone had to be a "real nikka" like Eazy E. Tupac just sexualized Eazy's message, and here we are.

People like to pick and choose when lame or square is bad depending on the context.

-Lame and square is okay when people want to use it to shyt on certain types of Black men
-Lame and square is bad when people start talking about dating/relationships. All of a sudden you need to be edgy and swagged out.
There's no difference, both scenarios affect black men and both connotations are negative.

Interesting

Like the great poet Andre Benjamin said:
Now question is every nikka with dreads for the cause?
Is every nikka with golds for the fall? Naw
So don't get caught up in appearance

I was at a wedding recently and some single white hoes called me a nerd. They were probably in the late 20s early 30s.
Now this comment caught me off guard. Were you goin back n forth with them or did they randomly scream that shyt your way?

When I was in elementary and junior high I heard black women treat brehs like that. But I have NEVER heard white women come at brehs like that. Not even the nerdiest brehs. Be honest that shyt had you feeling some type of way didn't it?

Good timeline. Basically, the Eazy E "real nikka" paradigm doomed a lot of black folk.
Yup growing up around my way it was the movie "Colors" that turned the generation before me out. Then you had Eazy, Snoop, and them West Coat Gs with just too much influence. When I was around 8 years old I watched a nigg trade his brand new pair of Deion Sanders Diamond turfs for a fresh pair of Chuck Taylors. I literally watched them swap shoes in the street.
