Why have Lil Wayne and Birdman avoided criticism about bringing Drake to the culture?

Can't say it ain't for good reason :manny:

It's lowkey hilarious how they're like the main antagonists of hip hop :russ:

If diddy is frieza, they're like the androids :ohhh:

i don’t even know what the bolded means exactly, but i know for damn sure it’s some silly nerd shyt that ain’t got nothing to do with “the culture”

Ostensibly this is a board full of black millennials, in reality Cash Money/Young Money is beloved and in large part the soundtrack of our generation…go to any black bar/club/lounge/wedding they get played and considered as classics….here, they’re supervillains that EVERYONE hates

This is late stage rap smarkdom gone unchecked….yall have worked yourselves into a shoot and actually believe this shyt :mjlol:

The Drake that hip hop heads first came to know was spitting 90% of the time and at times rapping over soul beats when Wayne put him on. Not the same Drake we know today
He was a proud white man in those Comeback Season days :mjlol:

He came out the gate in a more Kanye lane of just dropping really good albums. Was pretty uncontroversial and was just seen as a nice guy. No reason not to accept him although a lot of older rap fans hated his soft image.
:mjlol: Stop. Ye’s first 4 projects are arguable classics

Put on any one of those early Drake/Wayne collabs from like the late 2000's and early 2010's and the whole room is singing the shyt word for word. It's actually insane the feature run Drake had before he even hit his "prime" as a solo artist. Drake lost the battle for sure but people are kidding themselves to deny the effect he still has if his shyt plays at a function.
