Japan, but from the 989
Good question :heh:

The 1st Amendment protects us from being bound to the rules of any holy texts, but most people don't understand that and vote based on their specific religious beliefs.

If you think the US was founded to be a Christian nation, why do you think the FIRST thing our founders did was make into law "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.."?

REALLY? So if God didn't punish people for molesting kids, you'd be doing that?

There is a flip side to that too. The founders didn't want government to be running religion either. That's why they don't get taxed. If government ran religion or the other way around you wouldn't have a "democracy" which we have here it would be Theocracy flat out, like Iran. The whole idea was that this country was going to be governed by laws that we could all agree with. That's why religion was thrown in the bushes in the beginning because there was an idea that this was a Free country. Now we all know it didn't turn out that way because these white guys didn't want to be underneath English rule but had no problems with slavery or running off native people from their lands. But in order to get that "peace" from England they needed to appear to be a neutral independent country. So they went to France and other countries to gain allies to protect them from the English. So if we want to recap the founding of the laws....Book of the Dead-Ten Commandments- Constitution.

This is my point, which the OP is trying to avoid addressing.

10 commands can be found in the supreme court/federal courts. A secular nation with the law of Moses in their higher courts?

I only do to others what I want to be done to me. At least I try :obama3:
This is a secular nation. It's was purposely not created as a Christian nation... religious freedom was allowed, but Christianity is not to interfere with government. The founding fathers weren't all Christian. Your Christian founders took the time to say black people weren't even human beings--- but forgot to speak about how this is a Christian nation??

Christianity popped off 2k years ago. There were rules and morals before that. There was ethics before that. Christianity doesn't = ethics.. it's just a pov about how to live a lifestyle that will keep u ethical.

The only time in this nation that we were close to having a "christian nation" was post civil war.. southerners were shocked and scared because ******s were running freed, and women were trying to vote.. They wanted to hold on to something traditional... so they started the Bible and guns and constitution shyt. There has even been attempts at changing the Constitution. People burned Crosses in 'negro' backyards and hung them from trees with kids watching - in Jesus name. The Christian nation myth has it's roots in that era.. because Christianity is the only thing that can suppress the media (they banned books n plays) and control the blacks and feminist..

The 1st Amendment protects us from being bound to the rules of any holy texts, but most people don't understand that and vote based on their specific religious beliefs.

And they are allowed to do that because of the right to religious freedom.

It all goes together. If religion was so horrible, then our species would have threw it in the bushes with cannibalism and being huntergathers.

Well, I suppose they are allowed to do it. But if they understood that religious freedom meant they had the right to worship however they wish as an individual, and shouldn't hold others to the standards of their personal religion, then I don't think they would vote that way. Its why so many minority groups in nations with state religions face such persecution. Christians don't want to be forced to live by Muslim standards, Muslims don't want to be bound to the tenets of Hinduism... et cetera, et cetera.

And the second thing you said isn't true either. I assume, as a Muslim, you think homosexuality, for example, is horrible, right? And yet in more and more countries, it's becoming more accepted.

Personally, I see the good that religion can provide.... I don't think it's 100% horrible. But there are problems, most notably people try to force those morals on others.

You might not think they would vote that way.... but most intentionally do. American voters don't vote for public good or even for people who will actually improve their quality of life - We are ignorant issues voters. That's just the world we live in... luckily most nations have pretty loose immigration laws. You're hopeless in American if you cant stand the Christian based patriotic, lying media and government system we have... gerrymandering and corporate funded campaigns make the constitution's intend about representation obsolete.

So the first thing I said was true.
The second point.... You are talking about opinions. You base ur point on the fact that homosexuality is normal and OK. Also, that it's acceptance is being validated because secular governments are changing laws about it. Well..... in our development we've thrown so many ideas and concepts out the window. No one can do a magic trick these days and people actually believe it's magic. We've traded longevity for healthier lives (not the same thing)... we don't hunt and gather... we defend nations with WMD's. As a Muslim, I don't think homosexuality is horrible... I feel bad the same why I feel with any mental or social disorder.

We have the luxury as humans to ignore natural and basic instincts and accept mental disorders as normal. We will start to see more of France in this world. France isn't just popping shyt off this week, that nation and other modern nations will push back continuously, because gays couldn't just have sex w each other and pretend its normal... they had to flame out, make statements, have sexual orientation parades, and have transgenders compete in women competitions. It's getting overboard.

threads like this remind me why I have OP on ignore.

On a message board full of Chief Keef supporters, constant troll threads and aliases and the lames that have them, nikkas that swear White Supremacy is the only form of racism that exists....

this is pretty much the dumbest thread and premise that I have seen since posting here.

Emperor- "when you die, you die. Now that you know this, I want you to spend your whole life working for me for bread and water"

People- :rudy:

Religion and control go hand in hand. When the Roman upper class saw the population converting to Christianity, they created Catholicism in order to control, they infiltrated it, similar to how hip hop has been infiltrated and commercialized today.

Man I wish more people would realize this.

Christians, have you EVER stopped and thought about WHY a religion that was born in the Middle-East adopted...Rome as its center and...Latin as its language? Do you REALLY think it's just a coincidence those were also the capital and language of the Roman empire? :beli::beli::beli:

Straight bullsh!t.
No way you have western civilization without Christendom.

Religion was core and center piece of how this very country was established.

Although fairly new, Americans recognize we are where we are because of God.

Most laws in western countries are based off the Bible.
Same way most laws are based of Qur'an and Haddith in most Islamic countries.

What would an Atheist society base their laws on? :leostare:

You are quickly giving Kingmen a run for his money as worst poster in HL.

I believe China is very successful. As a matter of fact, they are about to be the wealthiest nation. I guess they don't do well with human rights, but you're 'success' measurements aren't defined.

China and the sort are still based of things like cults of personality. Chairman Mao is still a larger than life almost messianic figure to China's power structure. North Korea is an example of that taken to the extreme. And human rights violations to a degree stops a nation from becoming truly "great". China has loads of money but its people are miserable and it regularly forces abortions on women, not to mention its stratification of wealth is even more perverse than in any western nation.

Russia IMO is a better example of a nation with a rich atheist history and reasonably successful. However, one thing i do see with mostly atheist nations in recent history (20th and 21st Century) is gross violations of human rights.

But to answer the OP, China and Russia are the only things ANYWHERE close, but both of those nations are ripe for huge and very bloody revolutions. the Russians don't know how to NOT have bloody conflicts and the Chinese...well I have no idea what's going on in China lol :yeshrug:

What are you reasons? Are my arguments too much for a mental midget like you?

I apologize....I will dumb it down next time. :obama3:
