They always rep Mississippi. And they're just regular artists signed by an ATL producer. They don't have an ATL sound
Miami, Houston and New Orleans are boring ? :comeon:

this is why the coli has fallen off. Why do people talk about shyt they know nothing about. The fact ya'll even had to reply like this says volumes about the hip hop intellect on this board.

The Coli always been like that. A lot of these dudes act like if the music wasn't made before 2001 then they don't know anything about it

Dallas Has the Best Rap Scene in the Country That You're Not Paying Attention To

considering the size of the population, producing just one rapper who is more associated with the West Coast than he is Texas is not much of an accomplishment

This doesn't change the fact that, that the poster was wrong. What many do not seem to comprehend is that hiphop/rap is not the end all be all of afram music on a national level. Some regions didn't take to hiphop just like some regions didn't take to blues, ragtime, funk etc... In this Docu

they even talked about how atlanta didn't even really fuk with hiphop and how long it took to really catch on

The only music that was to be found everywhere is some form of gospel and jazz.

It had everything to do with the point. My point is that some regions are just more into specific genres than other regions. The more you're into a specific genre, the higher the chances are you'll produce alot of music/talent/stars of said genre.

afram NY'ers/North easterns are pred carolinas/maryland/Virginia w/some lesser gulf coast. For example

redman (alabama)

prodigy (texas and virginia)

nas (n carolina and mississippi)

p diddy (virginia)

LL cool J (virginia)

50cent (south carolina)

Q tip (alabama)

Rakim (virgina) Eric B (mississippi)

Questlove (carolinas)

dj jazzy jay (south carolina)

russel simmons/rev run (virginia)

LL Cool J's grandmother was from Columbia, SC. I saw him plenty of times in the city visiting her when I was younger visiting my Great Grandmother.

Masta Killa mother worked with my mom
I worked with Joe Budden's uncle

It's a few more that i can't think of right now.

nah man. I'm from SC. i figure there has to be talent in states like ours. one of the first states where slaves came.

that pain makes the best art.

All my SC peeps gotta say is...Dizzy Gillespie and James Brown

But seriously...it's hella talent in the state...our only problem is supporting each other. The only area that was really taking rap serious was the Chuck for a while but that's changed like a mf now. SC is like a potential storm waiting for that one last condition to make it official.

I honestly think SK {Speaker Knockerz} passing hurt more than Lil Ru wasting that deal with Def Jam. He was popping and you can hear his influence all in A Boogie with a Hoodie style (IMHO). I was in Texas hearing his music...just like I was hearing Lil Ru music in VA. Then we got Nick Grant bubbling right now and just released a new track with Yo Gotti.

On the grimy side... Check out

Deezy McDuffie - Yay Long and News 19

Renni Rucci - Lil Baby Freestyle

Mi5ta - Big Mob

YPC Nae - Ain't gotta lie

Blacc Zac - 100 Bandz remix ft Young Dolph

and that's just Columbia...and not even close to all of them...just the ones making the most noise right now.
