If this album was as classic as the OP feels, it couldn't be re-written as otherwise. Thing is, the OP wants to push this narrative of this album being classic, but is quick to :pacspit: on albums with far more validity of being classic than this Lox album.

I get what you're trying to do, and in principle I agree. Can't let these hipster bloggers force classics that never resonated with people of the culture, and more importantly, resonate with people of the culture to this day.

But this album aint it. Come back with a better album :russ:

@Homeboy Runny-Ray this is probably the most impactful album that isn’t universally considered a classic. It got crazy play in VA and NC when it dropped. If you were on the east coast when this dropped and wasn’t a complete square then you know what it is. But Pitchfork and Complex don’t write anniversary articles about it so...

Lox are generally brushed off by critics though.

THIS

and yea, this is why I'm thinking about putting together a website or blog-site or something. its like the core rap audience isn't represented at all, and we're being completely shut out of our own chit.

No, my point is you stay creating arguments over trvial BS and then try to bolster this hood image to back it up. Like, a true classic's status doesn't change because some so called "squares on the Net" had a secret meeting to write it out of history. You're more guilty of this than anyone on here. You've

through plenty of threads downplaying classics, but then push for albums like a We Are The Streets, which even you are conceding is a regional classic at best, is a tried and true classic.

In terms of impact and influence, what impact and influence could be attributed to this album that wouldn't also be true of this one below:

and yea, as far as this album goes, it exemplifies just about all qualities of a classic. from impact to influence to popularity. i'd say that its is the most important album on the east/southeast to come out after the '90s

Album was good not classic. Sheek flow was still suspect and all over the place. The Lox are very talented but they're actual song crafting skills aren't up to par. Its why they mixtapes were always a day one purchase but albums not so much. Outside of Gangsta and A Gentleman they official releases dont have reply value IMO

their solos are lacking too...i dont replay any of their solos...the closest one would be sheeks actually

I've told y'all already - I don't care about forced narratives and stories of influence. For any album. A classic album has to have at least 9 standout cuts (or close to be debatable). Yes, SirBiatch rules but they're based on common sense and there isn't a single hip hop classic album (actual, not forced) after the 80s that doesn't meet this basic criteria. What are the 9 standout songs on here?

Recognize has been my shyt since the day it dropped. Obvious classic. Standout #1. And the best track on the entire album.

Ride or Die bytch... I enjoyed it back in the day. It's a good song. A little goofy for The Lox but it works. Sure... lemme give it Standout #2.

The rest?

I told y'all already I fukk with Swizz. I'm one of Swizz's biggest defenders on this introvert site. But his production on here is mediocre. None of these beats is close to "All For The Love" in quality, an actual hood classic. Swizz has way better beats before and after this album.

Now if you can come up with better reasons than "this got a lot of burn in 2000 in misery-deep areas people are dying to escape from", then I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'm done giving your forced thread pages :salute:

what trivial BS arguments?? youre just throwing chit at the wall.

bolster what hood image?? everything I said was facts. it looks like youre just sour because youre out-the-loop.

I'm not even the first one who brought up nerds & squares. I grabbed the ball and ran with it, after other people brought it up.
so don't get mad at me. get mad at THEM if you feel offended.

and you still didn't name an album. you should use that Juelz gif on yourself, because youre the one saying a bunch of nothing. LOL. you dudes don't even know how to use gifs properly.
