Just say we don't give a shyt about the poor. If you're broke fix your own damn life its not our responsibility to take care of your ass. If you're old and you don't have money then just die. If you don't have insurance or a job good enough to get you decent insurance that's your problem.

instead they masquerade like they care about everyone but put in place policies that favor mostly themselves.
The opposite of Republican thinking is socialism. Socialism is a modified version of communism.

How much money has Obama shared, of his personal income, with the poor? Communism would say he should have a minimum wage income, so that would be like sharing 80% of his net income with the poor. Socialism would say increase his tax burden so everyone less fortunate benefits.

Even in socialism someone is rich at the top, just not us.

That wouldn't be politically correct.:manny:

after his deductions his taxable income is ZERO. He get's it all back bruh. As do a large number of people, he has children if you don't then i can see where you might be paying SOME taxes, but even then your tax bracket with a marginal amount of deductions is pretty forgiving in terms of your overall tax bill.

If your friend is an employee for a corporation getting paid 80K, there is absolutely no way he is NOT paying any taxes. Unless he is an independent contractor, there is no way your telling the truth. The US tax code doesn't work like that bruh.

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
I've always maintained that both sides have good intentions just different philosophies for the well being of all...

:comeon:

Mitch McConnell's remarks on 2012 draw White House ire - Los Angeles Times

If Republicans are to enjoy a midterm triumph in 2010 as they did in 1994, McConnell said his party should say: "Those of you who helped make this a good day, you need to go out and help us finish the job."

Asked what that "job" was, McConnell explained that "the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Taxes in itself create distortions and inefficiencies in the marketplace.
So do corporate welfare programs like TARP...

which was written by a Republican appointed cabinet menber... voted for by Republicans... and signed into law by a Republican

:comeon:

"Govt guarantees" not only present clear conflicts of interest and obvious unfair competitive advantages to banks, they are now affecting the prices of securities (sorry I dont have a link). So banks like JPMC can price their securities more advantageously, because investors know if shyt goes belly up the govt will prob swoop in to save them, which also encourages them to take more risk, on the back of the tax payer and anyone holding dollars

Seems pretty distorted to me, how can anyone compete with an entity that is backed by the full faith of the US Govt?

The less taxes there are for all the easier it is for a society to exist with maximum affordable options in the market that will always innovate with time and create boundless opportunities for work and wealth creation
Spare us the hyperbole bruh... taxes are at their lowest now for EVERYBODY. And unemployment is at its HIGHEST. Where are these boundless opportunities you speak of??

And Republicans are proposing tax hikes on 99% of the country... kind of runs counter to your philosophy, don't you think?

Me personally, I think we should have a flat tax on everyone above the poverty line.... but your Republican cowards are too afraid to "challenge their base" and put forth a plan that makes sense

Also a guy like me believes that thing like social security and Medicare and education have much more affordable available better serviced options for everyone even the poorest of the poor in a pure free market...

:what:

And private charities and churches are best to handle those who are in poverty and perhaps a small safety net or a national charity that is optional to donate too during tax time.

:comeon: What proof do you have that if SS & MC were to disappear that church + charities would pick up the slack?

I speak for myself as an example of a conservative person who does not ascribe to what you feel conservatives want...
You buy into the drivel they sell hook line and sinker... you are the archetype of a conservative talking point idiot, you regurgitate the lies they feed w/no analysis whatsoever

This whole your an evil communist who wants to control the world or I'm an evil capitalist who only cares about myself is disingenuous political theater that is just part of the game but isn't true at all...like I said most people have empathy for other human beings ...just different ideas of what is prosperity for all
Its not that simple, and nobody says it was... but if you want to talk about the GOP, lets talk about what they actually say + do, and not what they want their followers to believe

sorry NEAR zero; between student loan payments, college tax credits, 3 children, interest on his home, 401k contributions and such he's not paying nearly enough to biotch, he got a refund this year of something like 12k, tax bracket for 80k is roughly what? 25%. He paid 8k roughly, that's 10%, which IMHO is not worth biotching over.

the problem is that BOTH sides are fukked up.

you can't be black and NOT see that Welfare is a problem. too many people are dependent on govt checks in the hood. It's ruining our culture and creating a dependency amongst the future generations. Even tho it helps some folks, there are a bunch of people who use the money as an excuse not to work.

BUT

the answer isn't as simple as just saying "F your poor people" like the Republicans

i wish there were more options. until then its still "The party of bad ideas" vs "the party of no ideas."

Can you explain how welfare is a problem? Not baseless talking points about black people being dependent on gov.

:what:

You're paying taxes if you dont ALL your money back. I make similar to your friend, and if you're not taking home ALL 80K you're getting taxed.

its more like 50K + another 3K in refunds.

If your friend is an employee for a corporation getting paid 80K, there is absolutely no way he is NOT paying any taxes. Unless he is an independent contractor, there is no way your telling the truth. The US tax code doesn't work like that bruh.

Brown Pride is correct.

You do pay federal income taxes out of your paycheck, but when you file your taxes through deductions and credits your tax you paid get reduce to zero and the gov gives you a refund.

This is the best example I can come up with right now.

Let's say my total rent for the year was $1,000. That's what I paid for 2011.

The lessor said if i kept the grass cut and made the repairs my self they would give me a $1,000 deduction on rent in April. Also If I paid my rent on time every month they would give me $50.

In April they see that I satisfied all the requirements and give me a check for $1,050.

That would mean I didnt pay rent(taxes) for the year.

This is what happens with the 47% that Romney was talking about

I overpay in taxes and get a refund check but that check doesn't amount to the total taxes I paid for the year.
just cause you get a refund doesn't mean you didn't pay taxes and Income taxes are only one form of taxes.

Half of those who don't pay taxes are elderly, retired people.
Then, there's the students, disabled, military vets, etc.
Romney makes it sound like 47% of Americans are minorities on welfare :pachaha:
