I've always maintained that both sides have good intentions just different philosophies for the well being of all...
Mitch McConnell's remarks on 2012 draw White House ire - Los Angeles Times
If Republicans are to enjoy a midterm triumph in 2010 as they did in 1994, McConnell said his party should say: "Those of you who helped make this a good day, you need to go out and help us finish the job."
Asked what that "job" was, McConnell explained that "the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."
Taxes in itself create distortions and inefficiencies in the marketplace.
So do corporate welfare programs like TARP...
which was written by a Republican appointed cabinet menber... voted for by Republicans... and signed into law by a Republican
"Govt guarantees" not only present clear conflicts of interest and obvious unfair competitive advantages to banks, they are now affecting the prices of securities (sorry I dont have a link). So banks like JPMC can price their securities more advantageously, because investors know if shyt goes belly up the govt will prob swoop in to save them, which also encourages them to take more risk, on the back of the tax payer and anyone holding dollars
Seems pretty distorted to me, how can anyone compete with an entity that is backed by the full faith of the US Govt?
The less taxes there are for all the easier it is for a society to exist with maximum affordable options in the market that will always innovate with time and create boundless opportunities for work and wealth creation
Spare us the hyperbole bruh... taxes are at their lowest now for EVERYBODY. And unemployment is at its HIGHEST. Where are these boundless opportunities you speak of??
And Republicans are proposing tax hikes on 99% of the country... kind of runs counter to your philosophy, don't you think?
Me personally, I think we should have a flat tax on everyone above the poverty line.... but your Republican cowards are too afraid to "challenge their base" and put forth a plan that makes sense
Also a guy like me believes that thing like social security and Medicare and education have much more affordable available better serviced options for everyone even the poorest of the poor in a pure free market...
And private charities and churches are best to handle those who are in poverty and perhaps a small safety net or a national charity that is optional to donate too during tax time.
What proof do you have that if SS & MC were to disappear that church + charities would pick up the slack?
I speak for myself as an example of a conservative person who does not ascribe to what you feel conservatives want...
You buy into the drivel they sell hook line and sinker... you are the archetype of a conservative talking point idiot, you regurgitate the lies they feed w/no analysis whatsoever
This whole your an evil communist who wants to control the world or I'm an evil capitalist who only cares about myself is disingenuous political theater that is just part of the game but isn't true at all...like I said most people have empathy for other human beings ...just different ideas of what is prosperity for all
Its not that simple, and nobody says it was... but if you want to talk about the GOP, lets talk about what they actually say + do, and not what they want their followers to believe
