Why don't more rappers make music the average guy can relate to?

This is a perfect example of the type of music im talking about

99% of the general public can relate to that song as far as nikkas go.
I never met a nikka that owned a maybach or even a ferrari for that matter but yet every artist feels the need to rap about this shyt. Cash out drops his 1st single lying about having a condo on his wrist knowing damn well he can't afford a cottage on his wrist let alone a condo. More nikkas can relate to not getting the finest girl in the club than they can the guy that leaves the club with 2 fine bytches every night. Even the nikkas you know lived a normal life prior to hiphop like Wiz and Big Sean feel the need to not keep it funky. Well I never listened to a Big Sean verse so I couldn't tell you but you get the gist of it.

idk

Now that I"m older (26), I prefer listening to tracks that focus more on down to earth shyt like Pac's more conscious tracks. As lame as Joe Buddens behavior outside of music is, I enjoy his more reality based perspective on things. Same can be said for Kendrick Lamar and Lupe IMO.

But honestly, I think for a lot of people it takes away a artists star power and appeal cuz a dude has to be larger than life and talk about more fabricated scenarios to actually come off like a "Superstar". Without all that over-the-top shyt a motherfukker might come across as just some average ass dude and that takes away from the "it" factor or some shyt :laff:

it's not profitable... rap has turned into wrestling; no one wants to hear the average Joe anymore, they want the embellished drug raps, outrageous materialism so that they can live vicariously through the artists

me personally though, all of my current favorite rappers are relatable; Blu, Phonte, Budden, Lupe, Black Thought etc. all say stuff that I personally can relate to

because noone is aspiring to an average life
Music is supposed to be relative, hiphop is based off of the blues and the blues was music about your reality which mostly was fukked up but it helped ppl cope because they could relate to it. Making republican music based on how the top 1% lives is something 99% of the ppl will never get to realize and achieve. The greatest hiphop song imo is The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 because if you listen to that song it's the blueprint of what hiphop was supposed to be about imo. True stories about your reality that ppl can relate to. Rapping about Lambo's and shyt that never is seen in the hood is Donald Trump's lifestyle and only a handful of drug dealers around the country realize that feeling and they don't even get to live it for that long.

I don't know
Rappers feel more comfortable talking about where they are in life
Jay-Z was dealing drugs for the better part of his early years, he's been rapping about luxury cars and street corners since then :yeshrug:

I definitely feel like J. Cole Warm Up, Kanye around College Dropout, Kid Cudi, and plenty of "underground" artists are relatable. Even Big Sean sometimes drops one or two bars I can relate to.
