Why don't more black folks play guitar now adays?

Sax is the instrument that seems to have gone extinct.. in the 80's EVERY song had a Saxophone solo

Sax and guitar are the two instruments I want to learn. I'm about to go retro

There’s more black guitarists now than there ever was in the past 30 or so years. A lot of them just chill in the indie circuit.

Tons of black people in the 90’s - 00’s would think you’re a weirdo c00n if you played a 6 string

I doubt that. Especially considering how popular westcoast hip hop/gfunk was back in those days. Gfunk and 90's southern rap incorporated strings and chords heavy in their tracks. Guys like George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Rick James etc would regularly make cameo appearances in music vids or be featured on tracks in the 90's. Hell, even Dre and Death Row used to bring bands in the studio and use live instrumentation to record tracks. So I don't think you'd be considered anymore of a weirdo back then, than you would now. Most of those rappers from back then didn't even grow up in hip hop since hip hop was in it's infancy when 90's rappers were kids. Those rappers actually grew up in funk, soul, Blues, rock, RnB, etc.

What I do sorta agree with you is, that because of YT and of the availability of content in todays era, it's easier find black rock bands nowdays than in the 90's. But there was a time where popular black music was exclusively guitar driven(1950's-1970's). And you won't find any popular genre anywhere near that in 2019.

If you mean like on beats i can dig it, but i can't stand sets like unplugged. I like rappers over the original beats.

you got Jimi media adoration because it was the english who "made" him, and englands got to claim the best at everything.

When regular brothers finally give his music a spin after the hype they find outside guitar skills, dude could not make music. voice garbage and couldnt write a song. 2 biggest hits a bob dylan cover and voodoo child which is about the guitar riff no vocals.

if brothers could know how dope a great rock song is, im sure they'd be way more but right now its c00nish since the music hype is that unappealling. i think black people will take over rock again, when one or two people step forward and show new dope music with guitar licks and everything.

and that dude is right about the digital music and the frequencies it produces ... you can master and distribute your music as a better frequency which most artists dont do
It's been shown to heal and build the cells and dna in your body. Alot of the music now, digital or not... is rendered in a very chaotic frequency that actually slows or retards

I been playing guitar n bass for 20 yrs now....there are a solid amount of blac guitarists...mostly in the church

But theres Gary Clark Jr, Michael Kiwaunuka, Steve Lacy, Daniel Ceasar(c00n but still blac)

Guitar was considered white boy shyt ince hiphop took firm hold in the mid80s
