Why doesn't Spike Lee get more credit for jumpstarting the careers of so many actors?

Was miracle at st Anna really that bad?

I remember having a couple issues with it(mainly the unnecessary love triangle)
But otherwise I don't see why it gets panned to the extent it does. :ehh:

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Was it a bit long and bloated? Yeah. Could the editing have been better? Yeah.

But it had my interest the whole way. Even when Spike is a bit off his game, there is a certain level of substance and quality in his work. I never feel like I wasted my time or didn't get anything out of the movie.

I admit that I haven't seen She Hate Me

But here's a list of Spike Lee movies that I have seen, that range from mixed bags to classics. All are, in my opinion, worth watching.

She's Gotta Have It
Do the Right Thing
Mo Better Blues
Jungle Fever
Malcolm X
Clockers
He Got Game
Summer of Sam
Bamboozled
25th Hour
Inside Man
Miracle at St. Anna
Oldboy

I know I'm forgetting some

But Inside Man is one of my all-time faves likely tied with Inception as all-time fave.
