Funk helped along with breaks from many genres spawn Hip Hop music. Somes cats and especially labels like Sugar Hill and Enjoy just rode the disco wave in the late 70s.

It does....maybe not in America where people really dont have a clue about house... but in Europe everyone knows that Disco, the cities of Detroit and Chicago birthed dance music...
