Why doesn't Disco music get props for being the mother of House music?

The backlash from the "Rock" crowd was definitely racial but the mainstream media back then for the most part propped up Disco and had quite a few self respecting soul/funk/r&b acts selling out making a disco record or 2.

Funk is the one that is so musically unappreciated because it's not a watered down genre like Disco was.

The 70s may have been the greatest period in black music, man.

I consider this more dance R&B with some Disco elements. It could fit right along with the straight disco of that era though.

The media and "Rock" bunched up damn near anything black whether it was funk or soul or r & b or disco together as one back then instead recognizing the diversty in black music in the 70s.

It's really annoying how Disco is so musically unappreciated. The Disco backlash in the late 70's was no doubt racial by the accounts I've read.

But I'll be damned if the SCORES they put together back then wasn't genius.

Dog....anyone who wants to get into music needs to really listen to how they honed their craft.

Lots of 80's cats I knew who laid down hip hop credited those dudes for inspiring them.

I wish music got back to using those strings like they did back then.
