iTunes Match is a great streaming program if you do not have enough storage to house your music. It also uses no space on your iPhone.

The devices became useless once smart phones were invented.

The classic stays in my car and is controlled by my head unit and the shuffle is great for working out...a phone wouldn't replace either one of those. Plus there's the battery issue as you pointed out.

I've used my phone (iPhone 4 then GS3) for months with my workout for months.
