To all of you saying to use ur phone....I have TONS of music, I don't want to and cant really load all my music onto my phone. Nor will I sit there and rotate music on and off to account for space?
Does any phone have capacity to load 50 GB's of music?
I still have a 120GB Zune player that I've had for a few years. Works just fine. For me. Most importantly for me, the battery life is better than it could ever be on a phone for a music player.
When and if it dies, I'll buy an iPod.
Google Music puts my entire 90GB library at my fingertips
But I thought this thread was solely about iPod touches.... that market is dwindling since phones are can do what they can do and more.
Phones haven't replaced other MP3 players like the iPod classic and iPod shuffle which I use. The classic stays in my car and is controlled by my head unit and the shuffle is great for working out...a phone wouldn't replace either one of those. Plus there's the battery issue as you pointed out.
Apple dominates the MP3 market for two main reasons: iTunes and the accessory market. I can plug any MP3 player into my car stereo (with its aux ports) but Alpine only took the time to develop a software interface for the iPod. And there's tons of secondary products out there like this.
The only reason for a consumer to choose a non-apple MP3 player is if they're an audiophile, or they can't afford it, or they have an irrational hate for Apple
