I'm from the Boston area thereabouts. I grew up near the Canadian border. I know Canadians. Drake is acting just like Azalea. He has adopted slang, mannerisms, etc he saw on TV.

Drake is from Toronto, it's different then the rest of Canada. You can't compare it to whatever Canadian towns you are border in New England or Mass.

A lot of Toronto slang, style, swag, and urban culture is influenced by Jamaica and the West Indies and not American Hip-Hop or BET.

I heard Drake talk a few years ago with a Jewish radio station and he sounded Canadian. He didn't sound Southern at all. He even played hockey. I've met legions of Canadians and none of them talk with a Southern inflection or use slang that isn't theirs.
