As far as I’m concerned. Drake can fart on a track and it streams crazy and “sells” records. The hits don’t even mean anything to me anymore. He doesn’t even have to work for them at this point. It’s automatic. And it can’t be accurately gauged because it’s not like fans are going out and actually “buying” this shyt. It’s all a game. I’ve met real life Kanye cult members. Can’t really say the same shyt for Drake. Ye would sell regardless of physical or streaming.

No matter what era an artist made a hit in, those aren't easy to come by especially not the scale of hits that Drake has made. And yes, there is work that goes into a hit song. Drake actually sold physical albums too before streaming took off. For someone to make hit songs for over a decade is a feat no matter who it is.

Drake is a genius regardless of using writers in the same manner that Kanye is. Kanye >>>>> Drake in terms of genius, but Drake being able to consistently make hits over the course of a decade (as the main artist and as an in demand feature) takes a certain level of genius. There is a short list of artists that are able to accomplish that with or without help.

He has writers. Doesn't mean he doesn't write or never wrote. And like 90% of the songs that he had written for him wouldn't have been hits if they weren't his songs. There's a reason why Quentin Miller, Hush, and Kia Shine are writers and weren't successful or had minimal success as solo artists.

Also, writing isn't the most important skill of a rapper. There are talented writers who have weak flows and deliveries.
