Why do you think Robin has been featured so infrequently in the movies?

Imagine having an unmarried billionaire with no children walking into an orphanage to pick our a supple, flexible young boy around 9 or 10 because he needs to be 'flexible' and eager to learn.

Not only that but now he wants to not only take in a young not only so he can 'train' him in more ways than one but train him to handle Batmans 'lightwork' still putting him in mortal danger more often than not but at worst become a sacrifice/meatshield until that boy turns 17-18 when he realizes that you are not only a manipulative selfish piece of shyt but that at this knowing all he has learned and surviving multiple life/death experience not to mention the psychological trauma inflicted not so much by the villians but by Bats himself that he is better having nothing to do with the guy.

Now make a movie out of that :hmm:

Oh and it has to be PG13.
R rated Batman movie to match Joker?! :gladbron: Lightbulb!
Guaranteed Billy off shear controversy. Let's go! :russ:

Robin makes more sense in the comic books or in the context of a tv series. theres so many different robins and storylines that you would need a whole movie to address batman getting a kid sidekick etc.

tonally most of the movies have gone with a portrayal of batman as a dark, lone wolf-type too. robin works better in the more ridiculous, comic book-y contexts.

Cause the character don't go together.

Hollywood has a hard enough time selling the idea of a woman bodying leagues of nikkas, and THAT's ACTUALLY POSSIBLE.

I ain't tryna see Batman vs. 50 goons in grimy ass gotham, and here comes some little ass niglet with his thighs showing

dressed like a bartender from starlets on some almost a pedophile

In the movie lean into that shyt. He doesn't have to be a little ass niglet why not make him a high school football quarterback type?

You gotta take batman more serious as a comic book character in order for it to work. You go to far to the campy side or too much to the "realism" side, certain tropes get exposed.

Robin gotta be a "prodigy prodigy" to be fighting the worst goons in the grimiest city of all time, and make sense. So batman being an OG grandmaster at this superhero shyt has to be a prerequisite.

They'll never make a Batman movie with a child Robin. If Robin is in the movie, he'll be 16 y/o+ played by a 20+ y/o actor

Like Jason Todd in Titans

Because of his origin they could do it with Damian because all of the training and stuff would have taken place before the character showed up.

With the other Robins (especially dikk Grayson) it presents an entirely different issue because of the child endangerment aspects.
