Why do these leagues continue to give a pass for officials making horrendous calls?

You should go back a read the rule you posted. It specifically covers this.

Watch the play. The infielder was not making an easy play. Any time any fielder has to run more than 30 feet to catch a ball, its not an easy play, especially an infielder running to left field. You ump. I actually play. And no, that call is not made all season long. If it was, you would have posted other examples of these infield flies 50 feet beyond the infield.

For a ML shortstop, that is absolutely an easy play.

He never lost track of the ball, cruised to a spot, called off a teammate, and was settled underneath it.

In my eyes, that's "ordinary effort" at this level.

I ump and play, FWIW.
