Why do these leagues continue to give a pass for officials making horrendous calls?

Every time they make a blatantly egregious call that impacts the game, they come out and defend the officials and say they made the right call or back their decision.

Why aren't they being held responsible? They're supposed to be professionals along with the players.

I'm sure someone's gonna say it would be like opening a Pandora's Box if they start overruling their calls, but would that be a bad thing? Some of them are too blatant to be ignored.

It'd be a bad thing for them. More firing and hiring of referees, plus alienating the other referees for firing a guy for the simple offense of having poor judgment.

With the technology available today, there is no reason why bogus calls like tonights IFR should stand. Why league offices let the garbage continue is more of a mystery than Jimmy Hoffas whereabouts. Then the worst part is, they'll suspend players for fukking up on their own time saying some shyt like " its detrimental to league conduct".

I don't think they should overrule calls but when an ump/ref fukks up a call they shouldnt defend them and say they made the right call and play the fans like were blind and stupid

I'm curious as to why they shouldn't overrule these atrocious calls as well. It costs the league some of its credibility/integrity when they let this nonsense slide.

Edit: They should have people at the game who can overrule egregious calls.

Listen if they want to expand replay I'm all for it and have them change it in game I'm fine but to change a call after a game has been completed I just don't like it the idea of it.

Thats completely different which you didn't make known. I assumed you were talking about right then and there.

Like Jerry meals never admited he got that tex call at first wrong .He said it was

the right call and the head ump said He didn't see a definitive replay :pacspit: they don't call them out cause its a partnership bad feelings would make them perform worse and the players need to respect them

Technology can't do shyt when it comes to a judgment call. That's like asking for instant replay in the NBA to overrule a foul.

Tonights play was not a judgement call though. Im guessing you aren't a fan of the nfl replay.

yes it was, by rule. It was up to the ump to determine whether he thought that was an infield fly rule

I don't mind the NFL replay and how it's judged, but they don't have instant replay for flags. This would be similar to that. This wasn't fair/foul, out/safe.

It was also supposed to be signaled immediately, not after he saw the confusion between the players and the ball was about to drop. That's unacceptable.

By rule my ass. Now you sound like joe torre. That ball was in the outfield, clearly. It was what is called a blooper of which there have been tons. Never has one that far in the outfield been a judgement call. Infield flies are called immediately.
