That's Atlanta always in their feelings towards New York.

Rest of the South weren't tripping on them. But yes Jay wasn't that nikka down here like he was up there, but folks rocked with him

He's just not placed on a pedestal like that here

He never really left tho
Black Album was “retirement”, then he dropped Collision Course, another R Kelly collab album, Dear Summer single summer 05, Diamonds Remix, etc
During that stretch and probably up till BP3 time frame, Jeezy was hotter for sure
He was fresher. You gotta understand prior to that Jay was killin it every summer since 97-98. He went to do other things. When I say active I mean commercially since he’s a commercial rapper. We know that R Kelly album don’t really count cuz of what happened. That’s like Drake falling back from killing it just to do features. That’s what Jay did basically.

Jay Z dropped solo albums during the runs of Wayne, T.I., and Jeezy. All THREE were bigger than Jay Z. Jay Z didn't regain his commercial standing until he dropped BP3 and even then Wayne was bigger.
I never denied Wayne being bigger at one point or even TIP considering he had movies out etc. I’m saying Jay was making other moves he wasn’t really active or focused on music like his previous years.

Yeah, but once the 00s came through, cats were flocking to ATL for a redbone bisexual stripper of their own, and were tricking major $$$ to hoes while catering music towards them. That is why the skill level regress massively.

U witnessed this??

Id rather have that than the stuff now.

Cats actually had fun back then and smiled.

This wasn't a matter of Coach K having an inferiority complex as it was him trying to magnify Jeezy's buzz/hype at the time. He used Jay as a point of reference.

Puffy regressed the skill level.

That created the open door forass culture thievery in the rap industry. Which in effect ruined the gateway of hiphop. By damaging the mores, norms and protection mechanism of hiphop.

To the point of no return and degradation erosion to the point of no return to the present day and future day.
