Why do some black people claim obviously mixed people as black?

you don't get it it cause cause u probably not AA:yeshrug:....my position: that a few black historical figures being mulatto to off white hardly constitute every AA pioneers being admixed as was implied isn't denying halfbreeds historical presence in the AA community:stopitslime:all i'm saying is they have always been a minority and not some standard for AAs as a whole

basically all the afram pioneering historical figures were admixed because

1. Those are the time periods when Aframs acquired their admx

2. the earliest aframs who were freed/came from long lines of free people of color happened to also, often be admixed.

It's complicated.

Say your mom is black and your pops is white, but your pops was never around, and you where raised 100% by your black side of the family?

Technically, you're mixed, but mentally/essentially, you're just as black as the rest of your black family members.
There are a lot of mixed people who only grew up with their white side of the family. Going by your logic we should just label them as white. But I'm sure you would have a problem with that.

That's why you have to take "mixed" people on an individual basis. You can't tell what side they have leaning towards just by looking at them.

Which is why it's complicated.Of course a mix person could identify more with their white side if that's the side they were raised around.

Personally, I don't give a shyt what side they choose.I'm just saying ignorant muthafukkas can't just look at them and say "Oh you belong in that group"

You have to respect their individuality.

In her own words:

9 times out of 10 you can look at a person and tell that he is mixed.
obviously her phenotype and experiences shaped her identity:beli:
Her identity is mulatto.

What nonsense is this :dwillhuh:? So Rachel Dolezal is black because she identified as black? Let me ask a question, have you ever seen biracials identify as any other race as if they were pure?

I have biracial people in my family who identify 100% with being black. They'd be ready to fight if you called them white or "half breed"

It's easier for a biracial person to claim pure black because there are so many black people who look biracial, but are not biracial. That's just how black genes are.My mom and aunt have the same mom and dad, yet my mom is dark as midnight, and my aunt came out looking like Vanity(RIP).

Is Rachel Dolezal part black?

No and she would have been called out for BS if biracials are correctly identified as such, calling biracials black just shows the general lack of respect you have for black people. Do you understand the racial stratification and erasure this causes? Is The Face Of Young Black Feminism Light Skinned And Biracial?

She's not qualified to be "black" because she's not of African descent.

Most of the biracials I know identify as both "black" and "mixed" but with "black" leanings.

Exactly.
Aesthetically biracials favor,i guess what we would call "full"blacks, over their other half
It could be white it could be asian, it could be whatever
So naturally they lean to us culturally, socially, politically etc this has been happening for hundreds of years and has shaped our AA culture/identity

There have been many biracials that look more white, though much more rare, and live "White"
So the whole AA society is a dumping ground thing is bullshyt. Its because most of them literally blend in with us

Lives "white" even gets roles to play white female characters. The overwhelming majority dont look like her though

But back in the day. We've had actresses who look like this, still identify as "black"

Yup. Biracials and monoracial Aframs overlap which is why "black" but fair skinned Aframs, are "mixed" identified types kryptonite:patrice:When Afram/black identified people look like this

First off those two women are quadroons which means 75 percent white. Biracials don't look black and they don't look white they look a combination of the two races. Stop lying about this favour black stuff.
