Why do some black people claim obviously mixed people as black?

Apparently, in the United States, there is a "One drop rule" that black people here came up with to claim everyone that has a black ancestor.
Look if thats their coping mechanism then just go with it It'll save you a bunch of headaches trying to dispute this with African Americans.
To me, where A = black and B = white, A + B ≠ A . Plain and simple. Simple fukking Algebra. But to them and their "one drop" rule, A+B=A. I got to the point where i just dont argue this anymore.

And since some african americans swear they are so genetically different than africans and caribbean blacks, who would those different genes have come from? the Caribbean Islands are so small in size and population i doubt Spaniard/Portuguese cacs had to reach as wide into Africa to met their demand and likely were content with a few tribes from specific locations to meet their demand for forced labor to send to their colonies in the Carribean
