it's funny to me that a Muslim is reaching inside Judaism to justify how old Islam is when they is no record of Islam or Muhammad till at least 500 years after Christ.

Without fictional Muhammad there is no Islam. Muhammad showed up hundreds of years after Christ.

I can't take the religion seriously sorry playboi :yeshrug:

so basically you know nothing about Islam, it's history, or reasons for it's creation.
Islam wasn't created has something new that the world has never heard off. Islam is just a word that mean submission to God.... specifically a voluntary submission.. which is the main reason that for most of its history it has been presented and offered- as opposed to the way that Christianity has done it -mainly forced on the world through battles and slavery.
In Islam (for the most part) people and groups might have lost battles.. .but weren't told to convert. There is a certain approach that the majority of Muslims would approach people with the religion, which is why there are so many voluntary conversations to Islam these days in the US and Europe. You can't learn everything you know about Islam from Bible study class... or from looking at the leaders of Saudi Arabia. In past history, Islam was mainly offered to Jews and Christians and anyone who believed in one God because of it's similarities and it's program that ensure righteousness and piety (as opposed to sin every day of the week and be forgiven by Creflo Dollar or the Pope on Sunday)

I can use the same argument and say Christianity is older than Judaism.

Someone can create a new religion tomorrow and use that same argument to say his religion has been around forever....

slippery slope :shaq2: not good enough :obama3:

Well we know that submission to 1 god has been around longer than the time frame in which Europeans made Jesus and his mom a deity and longer than when the Romans used it to unite and control it's people under the guise of creating an official state religion. Its been around longer than when Europe became Christianized and randomly decided that worship wasn't good on Saturdays, and that Christianity has to be combined with Saturnalia and pagan worship traditions,,, longer than when you could do whatever the hell you wanted because you would be magically forgiven. ... 14,00 biblical changes and manipulations later- I find it reasonable that a concept would come along to say that we should got back the morals and philosophies of Abraham.

lol, except for the fact that you know what it means

Sorry, but you're not familiar enough with my position if you think that. I'll simplify it for you:

In regards to the proposition 'Does a 'G-d' exist?:

a theist would answer, 'Yes'
an atheist would answer, 'No'
an agnostic would answer, 'I don't know'
I would answer, 'The question makes no sense.'

But it doesn't stop the fact that I can start a religion called "coli" tomorrow and say it means submission to God which has been around forever....

Not good enough. Slippery slope arguments are not welcomed here.

Except that you know exactly what they are asking and you are fully aware that the question makes sense. Also if you are not saying that a God or something like it exist, then I would say that you are atheist or agnostic.
you are allowed to consider yourself whatever you want, so that is just my opinion.

You still don't get it. They aren't asking anything.

:ohhh: why?

Not judging, I'm just curious

Edit: I see your edit and that makes sense. But I think everyone has their own idea of what/who god is/isn't. So in order for you to make that statement it would mean you don't have your own idea of god. Am I correct in this assessment? And if so, do you plan to build your own view, or are you content with not having one?

lol, I get it.... It's like someone asking do you believe in highlighterroachbraindikks ?

That word means nothing so can't- not believe in it or believe in it.

Except that the particular word God can't fit that because we've believed in deities since at least 50,000BCE and we understood what it meant before we understood how our most things around us worked. The original why about everything was intelligent catalyses in nature or the sky.

You've believed that the word was understood. I haven't.
