I tried watching DBZ. I was in like a mofo. Enjoying the hell out of it. Then it gets to a point I’m the season when Frieza was fighting Goku. Now my memory may be off but it seem like there were 3 straight episodes where they would stare at each other and power up with no fighting. I was done after that and never really watched anime ever since

The Anime Industry got lazy and if it wasn't for the Western audience and loli enthusiasts, the industry would had died a LONG time ago.Sure there's some legit anime out there, but it's not the same experiencing vibrant shyt that I posted because it came from the soul, and not focus on pushing for a "get rich and peace out" approach:francis:

THIS

I think the drawn out aspect of DBZ is what killed anime for me

but I did enjoy Speed Racer back when I was in pajamas and dun-da-duns

-there is racism in anime
-a lot of fans are japanophiles and are obsessed with Japanese people and want to marry Japanese people (weird)
-a lot of anime fans deny or downplay racism in anime and that fact that many Japanese people are racist and want to look white
-a lot of people think cartoons are for kids only

The only thing thats weird to me is the hyper sexualization. Its all funny until you realize some of these women are suppose to be highschool aged :francis:

Makes me think of the mindset of the audience

I'm sorry but I consider them kids shows because they are lacking in depth. They are all about some character who trains to get powerful enough to defeat a villain :gucci:. Very cliche and predictable plots. On the other hand good animes explore what it means to be human, phisosphy etc. ( "'m talking about Full metal alchemist, Steins Gate, Psycho Pass, Code Geass etc.). These anime get you thinking and aren't about the cliche shoujou "imma get powerful and beat this guy up" theme.
Plot wise yeah it was childish but a lot of characters even the background ones had a lot of depth to them
