i was telling somebody that most of our favorite mc's could never make a song as mind numbing as "allure" and their response was "f*ck jay-z, he's wack"

i think that's what it is right there, people can sense that his veins don't really pump this hip hop like someone like Nas or even Eminem, he's more about the business part of it. but should him caring more about doubling his dollas than spitting at his full potential distract from the fact that he's still very very very very dope (when he's not bullsh!ttin)? i hear people talk like he's just wack, 100% wack, sh!t crazy. he doesn't even really make that much cornflake, shake ya bon bon sort of music to be honest. i think dude is underrated a little bit, ha, some rap loyalists' perception of him is skewed.

i think heads probably hate on jay cause they think you're not considered authentic if you fukk with jay (cause he's too much of an icon/popular). i swear hip hop be too much about being 'in the know' and above the popular shyt, i used to be guilty of that too.

with all that said, nothing gets me more excited in hip hop then possibly the idea of a new jay album or verse (even if it ends up like 3 kings shyt) unless its the gawd nasir releasing something

He puts just as much effort into his music as well as his business side.

To say he doesn't bleed this hip hop sh1t and he isn't genuine hasn't heard Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and The Black Album.

Jay deserves his props for pushing the hiphop game forward and while making great music he possibly can. you should appreciate him while hes still here. I mean who will ever replace Jay-Z when he gone?

same goes for Nas too. its gonna be a sad day when that happens.

Honestly..if its like that its only recent...cause I've came across way more that love him than hate him in my life...but u gotta take it with a grain of salt these days...I've seen a nikka say Andre 3k is wack and ain't got shyt on Jim Jones . shyt like that makes me not take majority of today's rap fans serious...
