Why do informed people buy Apple products over other high end phones/tablets?

Is this really a legitimate pro anymore? Its 2013 and we still need our computers/smartphones dumbed down for us? The internet been around over a decade, it would probably amaze some of these iStans what a google search could do for them.

I definitely wouldn't call Apple products basic. For something as simple as downloading a damn mp3 from somewhere other than itunes I gotta jailbreak the device. @ basic....bullshyt though, yes

I don't understand how the iPhone and iPad are basic products. There's no other tablet on the market that matches the iPad in raw specs(I don't count the surface Pro, it's basically using desktop components.. and even then there's the issue of price), the only one that's in the same ball park is the Nexus 10, and the iPhone is about 5 months old and it's still one of the most advanced pieces of hardware as far as smartphones go.

if its so advanced why does there products break so easy

they make the same product over and over every year and change the amount of gigs somewhat but according to these istans they make inferior products to everyone else

Two different markets. Surface pro isn't nearly as portable as the iPad. Heavier, more expensive, wayy less battery life..etc

You're right. One is an oversized ipod touch, the other is a pc. I was just reiterating what people around the forums say.

Of course all the "negatives" you posted are due to a faster CPU, better GPU, 4x the RAM, running a full OS, etc....a better comparison would be with a MacBook Air.
