So before I got into the smartphone game a couple of years back, I was planning to get an iPhone cause like everyone else it was the only smartphone I heard on the news or saw other people rock. Before buying I did a little research and what did I find? I could pay just as much for a superior product in the Galaxy SII.

Now this past week I decided to get into the tablet game after waiting it out a while cause I felt my laptop was adequate. Once again, all I heard about was the iPad so that was what I was gonna buy. Once again did a little research and found that the new Microsoft Surface Pro was coming out this week the same time as the iPad 4 and basically shyts all over the iPad while being the same price. :snoop:

Now I don't have a problem with people not wanting to get the highest end product on the market. After all we all make cost/benefit calculation when its comes to making purchases. But for the life of me, I just don't get why anyone would buy an INFERIOR PRODUCT for the SAME PRICE as a superior product.

Usually when your product is basic, you don't charge premium prices. Someone Apple is able to get folks to pay premium prices for basic products. :dwillhuh:

I don't understand how the iPhone and iPad are basic products. There's no other tablet on the market that matches the iPad in raw specs(I don't count the surface Pro, it's basically using desktop components.. and even then there's the issue of price), the only one that's in the same ball park is the Nexus 10, and the iPhone is about 5 months old and it's still one of the most advanced pieces of hardware as far as smartphones go.

Apple products are not "basic" by any stretch of the imagination. Yes there are better values out there than apple products. But value isn't the only important thing to consumers.

Judging by reviews the surface rt has a larger feature list but just doesn't perform as good as the iPad. The surface pro isn't out yet, but it will be more expensive than the iPad. Just depends on what your looking for.

calling Apple products basic is :childplease:

The top Android and Apple smartphones and tablets all have their pros and cons, basically up to what your personal preference is.

its all preference at the end of the day BUT you'd be an idiot to buy an mac desktop or any of their "higher" end laptops at those disgusting prices.

This is a very passive aggressive post. Why are you so angry and bitter. It's not healthy.

PCs are definitely a different game. I use an iPhone and iPad but ive always been a PC person and cant imagine dropping $2K on a basic macbook w/retina screen when I could get an absolute monster of a PC laptop for the same price.

I definitely wouldn't call Apple products basic. For something as simple as downloading a damn mp3 from somewhere other than itunes I gotta jailbreak the device. :childplease: @ basic....bullshyt though, yes
