i'm not going to debate whether cuomo is better or worse than biden because it's irrelevant to my point..... there were already 30+ yahoos running in the primary... cuomo would have gotten lost in the sauce... oh, and please don't mistake my saying that cuomo would have gotten his ass ripped as me saying the other 30 something candidates didn't get their asses ripped... they did get their asses ripped, that's my point.... we had enough choices, we didn't need one more.....

Cuomo doesn't have a national base. Biden fills up the experienced moderate lane. Also, Cuomo is not popular overall in New York State.

The only reason why he's still governor is because he's a Democrat (a Republican isn't winning the governorship anytime soon) and the fact that his father was a beloved governor (Mario Cuomo). In 2018, he won the primary because nobody with political name experience & recognition ran against him. Cynthia Nixon is just an actress .

And he was so worried about a bad showing against Nixon (after Teachout overachieved against him) that he started adopting policy positions to offset her ads. Marijuana legalization, actually speaking to investments in MTA and the disbanding of the IDC all came about as a result of that actress. Cuomo is one of those dudes who looks like a good choice from afar but any closer than that and you start to see red flags.

We need to stop lionizing every civil servant who has a competent disposition, Cuomo, has plenty of things that while maybe don't exactly disqualify him from the presidency, certainly don't help. Better than Trump is a low, low bar to clear, tempting as it may be.

He never followed up on any of those either besides the IDC disbandment and honestly if they didn’t get primaried out I am pretty sure they would have gone right back to business as usual.

In fact that is the best way to describe Cuomo. “Business as usual”. Anything new is not only not appreciated, it’s targeted for the chopping block.

The party is mostly Centrist and are the minority in state legislatures, Governors, the Senate and a political novice game show host is the president. They lose most of the time but we are fukking up asking for better from the party?
