AEOM was 5 platinum by the time Hit em up dropped which had dropped in June that same year. He didn't diss none of them nikkas by name on the album at all and he still sold.
He always was selling records, Me Against the World sold while he was locked up. its just him going with Death Row Records boosted it along with the fact that Tupac's story was fascinating to the media to follow because dude was big at the time.
