First off Nas been in the game since '91, second the 2Pac and Nas beef was somewhat complicated. By the time the beef popped off in 95-96, outside of BIG, Nas was essentially the 2nd hottest rapper of NY. Dude's star was really rising, so of course he would have his name dragged in by 2Pac. This was made worse by the fact that Nas didn't really want to involve himself in the beef between Pac and Big, because Nas wasn't friends with BIG either, especially since the two were essentially battling to be the King of NY. I think towards the end they dapped it up, but in many ways they envied each other as well.
