They didn't play like it throughout the season, Wade was passed his prime and so was Bosh, bosh never looked as good as he did Toronto.

If you off name recognition then what actually happens on the court, then you can make that pass.

Thunder was more of a superteam with Harden, Durant, and Westbrook lmao
You missing the point

Not enough superstars for it to work league wide
Pretty much. If we're talking a true super team, there's really only enough players to make maybe two of them, three if we're stretching it, and then some of those players would stop being looked at as superstars because someone has to take a step back for the sake of the team.

if Lebron was on any of those teams in the west he would win championships lmao

if the spurs had Lebron instead of Leonard, you don't think he would win it all lmao

if Lebron was on the clippers he would win it all

if Lebron was on the Warriors instead of Curry he would win it all

you live in a fantasy world

the lakers 3 peated were they a super team

Lebron can take any team to the finals, he took the cavs to the finals the year before he went to miami

Wade was the 2nd best player in the NBA in 2011. He definitely wasn't over the hill at that time.

The Heat was a superteam and that was obvious. Even if wade wasn't in his prime in 2013, he was still pretty good until he gotten hurt

the ether
What makes a "super team" anyway? The number of big names on the team? The amount of talent loaded up on one team?

If we're just looking for "three HOF's on the same team", then there's been super teams forever.

The Russell-Heinsoln-Jones-Jones-Cousy-Ramsey-Havlicek Celtics
The Chamberlain-Gola-Arazin 76ers
The Chamberlain-Greer-Walker-Cunningham 76ers
The Havlicek-Cowen-White Celtics
The West-Chamberlain-Baylor Lakers
The Reed-DeBusschere-Bradley-Frazier Knicks
The Bird-McHale-Parish-Johnson Celtics
The Kareem-Magic-Worthy Lakers
The Thomas-Dumars-Rodman Pistons
The Olajuwon-Barkley-Drexler Rockets
The Jordan-Pippen-Rodman Bulls
The Shaq-Kobe-Malone-Payton Lakers
The Duncan-Parker-Ginobli Spurs
The Pierce-Garnett-Allen Celtics
The James-Wade-Bosh Heat
Heck...someday the Curry-Thompson-Green Warriors might be considered a "super-team"

I'm sure there's been others. Owners want to get the top talent on their team. Over the years, there's been different ways of doing that....it's happened before and it will happen again.

It seemed after Miami everyone feared superstars would start teaming up more frequently. Not only have I not seen it after Miami(is Cleveland a super team:jbhmm:) it's not even getting talked about anymore
Salary cap and the repeater tax. Miami really couldn't replace the older supporting players because of those two things. The Big 3 had to carry a heavy burden over the years and it just fell apart in year four.

Because you have to sacrifice a lot to be on a team like that. Guys like Wade and Bosh sacrificed their game so Lebron can go off. Not many allstars want to take a step back for another guy

Bosh was out of position..playing the 5 while giving up 20 pounds to Hibbert and being reduced to a spot up 4..:childplease:...Riley was asking this nikka to go from a perennial 20 & 10 all star to a glorified Channing Frye just to get a ring.:ohhh:..I'd say he did a pretty good job...:ehh:

The owners had a lockout and changed the cap rules because of the Miami big 3 (repeater tax, no full mid level if over the cap, no sign and trades with bird rights, etc.).

It is really hard to do unless you have vastly underpaid players or the owner has super deep pockets and don't care about giving up a grip on luxury tax.

no he wasn't. The heat were irrelevant until lebron joined them.

They weren't a super team because they didn't have a rotation

every good NBA team has three core players

There was nothing super about this team and they didn't really dominate any opponent

Wade bosh and bron teamed up with the purpose of accomplishing those goals cause they damn sure wasn't doing it before. Cleveland was getting beat by Dwight Howard and a bunch of tall ass shooters. Nobody cared about bosh and wade was getting kicked out the 1st round prior to teaming up and causing terror to the eastern conference

That doesn't mean they were a super team.

Neither of them had any help on their teams that's why they joined up and they were the only 3 players on their team lol
