Why did Kendrick play it safe with " We hate Po Po" line in Grammy performance?

His music is basic outer layer shyt. He never goes under the surface like say, Tupac. I didnt say music means nothing. His music means nothing as far as (powerful). Hes a great rapper though. Yall just put him on a level hes not at as far as content goes.
You're in a 23 page thread about him excluding just 3 words in his 6 minute performance last night. If 3 words are that powerful than you can't tell me everything else isn't.

Interscope Records probably told him to chill, anybody remember when Mobb Deep had that line about whipping Jesus on that song Pearly Gates? they had to blur out that lyric on the cd in order for that song to added to the Blood Money album. record labels can't have that shyt when it comes to controversial stuff like this.

Kendrick still got big shoes to fill if he's trying to follow Pac's footstepts. Pac took 5 bullets to prove he was about that life. Kendrick is a non confrontational dude.

MIA to ATL
Lets get thing straight. I dont care about him not saying that popo line. I care about him profiting off the black power fad that is in lately. Wtf is he doing besides making music? Pac was out there getting harrassed and beat up by the police. Thats a threat. Thats somebody with something to back up their talk. Kendrick gets to play the quiet shy guy with the hippy dress fashion and talk that shyt but when has he ever put up? Bob Marley put up. Pac put up. Others have put up to the point where they endured suffering at the hands of the people Duckworth is talking to in the crowd. Kendrick is a phony rap nikka to me. Its like he has a checklist of things the hotep community wants to hear. But when asked to expound on his music with actual views or SOLUTIONS his PR team hits you nikkas with the. :whoa: Whoa whoa whoa lets just talk music interviewer.

I dont hate Kendrick. I just know a fake nikka when I see one. If I'm a cac/c00n for that so be it. Open your third eye and see past the bullshyt.

I can see past the bullshyt. My problem was with dudes in this thread calling him to task over something trivial, which you engaged in. Now if you believe it just a fad so be it, that's your opinion. I don't agree but it's not even important.

You say Tupac (who's in my Top 5) was more "bout it" but what do he do tangibly to build the community other than provide the music to inspire and enlighten thought? That's a real question. Because I want to know so I can say 'ok you're right, he's only talking and Pac actually did something physically/economically tangible to help the black masses'. Him shooting a cop who was doing harm to someone was some G shyt. Without question. Pac was that dude. But lets not act like he was going around banging on police regularly, that was isolated. Is there anything else he did? I'm too young to know off hand. And him getting beat up by cops or harassed isn't putting in work imo. That's being a victim of white supremacy.

Marley I can't speak on because I don't know enough about what he did. I know he was a real one though.

Your criticism about him backing down to the media when asked about the views of his music is respectable, accurate and I agree. I wouldn't have handled it the same way. However, I think every black person can understand why he did that. Again, I dont agree but I understand. The music was not compromised by those comments tho so let's keep that in mind. And he seemed to tighten up after being called to task over that.

For the record I ain't on that hotep shyt lol

he wants the Pac love but not anything negative that comes along with it :yeshrug:

they lied about him being unsigned, whose to say they are still not lying to us.:yeshrug:

maybe him keeping it real is really fake :ohhh:

maybe the keys to Compton and all the other press accolades and stuff is just to make up for the lack of radio play :yeshrug:

Thread title answered it's own question.

He's a safe, docile negro.

He can talk pretty on the mic, but I know a true one when I see em.

I'm a different kind of fella....Him winning all those Grammy's only ILLEGITIMIZED him IMO

I'f you're keen, you'll know what I mean....

Every since he regurgitate the FOX News/White supremacist talking point of 'what about black on black crime' when Billboard asked him about the climate of police and the Black community relations....I lost respect for him for going that route and not bringing up white supremacy.

They asked him about cultural appropriation....he responds with "leave Igggy alone".

This same nikka was tap dancing for a Taylor Swift feature.

Pretty much begged Adele to shout him out.

And this the guy some of ya'll are defending. The playing both fields BS trying to be good with the conscious community and tap dancing in front of white folks is corny. To each his own.

Pac getting beat up and harrased just let you know what a threat was and what power was. White folks liked him like some like kendrick. No white folks dislike Kendrick because hes a nobody. The whites that didnt like Pac HATED him because his words were real and not some shyt to seem cool. Im just saying if kendrick was as powerful and black power as yall say he wouldnt be so damn clean. That shyt should raise red flags.

White folks in high places have MASTERED the psychology of niccaz. They know exactly what to give them.
