Why did Kendrick play it safe with " We hate Po Po" line in Grammy performance?

As a massive fan whose bought all his releases and thinks the world of him, that was disappointing to see.

IMO he saw that Beyonce backlash and wanted no parts of that.

People in this thread telling us to shut up and appreciate the excellence the pro blackness etc...I feel you to an extent. It was dope and I loved all he had going on, but him editing that hook was lame and I gotta call it like I see it. We're advanced beings here. We should be mature enough to say we enjoyed the performance and still be critical of that whimp ass move.

It is what it is :manny:

Its bytch shyt to duck and hide from the truth. Do we strive to be men? Is there standards we should uphold? Do we want to be real and keep it 100?

It goes hand in hand with the excuses for Drake ghost writing. No one is above criticism.

nah, it was a serious question and he executed the song perfectly
Agree to disagree.

I'm all for opening up the dialogue on black on black crime, and think it is a serious issue we need to address, but I was disappointed he went that route in that specific song.
Reminded me of how some people bring up black on black crime when black people speak up against police brutality. I appreciate his efforts to try to unite gangs.

yeah i see your point but kendrick isn't a pundit on fox news asking that question with malice intent .. he's an artist who was posing this question to his many young black listeners .. why get worked up when a white guy kills us but we are quick to threaten our brothers with violence

Let me dumb it down for you, since you're obviously retarded.

Anime, including DBZ is for children. Therefore, I cannot take your opinions on anything related to entertainment since you have the platte of a five year old.
DBZ is the shyt :dwillhuh:

come man the show

use a song released after Pac's death as a basis for your argument brehs.

Kendrick lied being unsigned. Whose to say the rest of this isnt via Jimmy Iovine marketing team.

The album was done before tupac died ya idiot.... pac was talking about the makaveli album in his last interview.

Oh my fukking god yo...

who anything about pac?

I thought you may have but you didn't specifically, for that I apologize.

But as you can see he's seemingly the standard for the all around super nikka "conscious rapper" and he did the same "what about black on black crime" bit in even more depth and zeal than Kendrick did. I saw a gang of people go on and on about his "black on black crime" comments talking about how they thought he was the one and HE AIN'T 2PAC when the truth is Pac was saying the same shyt.

"IT AIN'T THEM THAT'S KNOCKING US OFF, IT'S US THAT'S KNOCKING US OFF. USE YOUR BRAIN, USE YOUR BRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!"

Also that's a perfectly valid question/argument to make, especially from someone who grew up around gang culture. You making it seem like he said it to appease white folk when the truth is addressing systemic Racism ain't gonna turn back the clock...getting nikkas to stop pulling triggers on each other should take priority over trying to get racists whites to act accordingly. You seem like an intelligent cat but if you think you can reduce him adding that perspective to that song to him trying to stay in good grace rather than have a real conversation with his listeners...I may be overestimating your intelligence.

Well go quote THOSE people. I've had discussions before on pac's double standard.
