You ain't listening to the right 80's music. I love the funk and soul of the 70's but OVERALL... I would take 80's music over the 60's and the 70's music. 80's music has more variety of Funk, Soul, Pop, Rock and Rap.

Ever since the 80's ended... music groups and producers have been trying to recapture that 80's sound... even still today(2017).

Let's just say that If I was on a road trip and had to listen to nothing but music from the 60's, 70's or 80's... for 10 hours straight. The 80's would easily win.
 80s is GOAT

That's why it's still alive with synthwave and retrowave

cameo knew how to use them instruments! They perfected that 80's sound IMO

that 80s synthesizer electric guitar.....dated sounding production.........is the shyt!

when you go back and listen to some 80s music, now i just appreciate the originality of that decade. fashion and hairstyles were :scust: but they was partying and still managed to keep that balance with singing about love. all of the legends in music putting out so much heat in the 80s.

the swag of the 80s and how futuristic nikkas thought they were at the time :pachaha: its dated like a mf but classic.

I discovered that back then, the artists the lyrics and the instruments all spoke in harmony. They actually had bands. Their voices were their instruments. If the song was about love you felt love, if it was about losing someone you felt like you lost someone. I can't describe it in any other way...I'm guessing people stopped feeling and expressing.

You must be speaking from your OPINION.

Yes, just like OP. Only difference is I was there for BOTH eras and appreciate them differently.

They both had their own unique influences and styles but to say that one aged better is just a subjective opinion........

I could flood this thread with dope/soulful/hot 80's tracks, but this ain't the right subforum for that.

80s music is high key trash...

That's where mass commercialisation of music occured and the use of synths and drum machines was used to cut down on price.

Also the 80s was the creation of the pop star...another trash development of music...

70s had the the Meters, Parliament, EW&F, Ohio Players, Slave, Sly and the Family Stone, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Queen, Bee Gees, The Eagles

Then on the solo side you had Stevie Wonder, Elton John, David Bowie.....

70s was the best era...

You listen to 80s music, shyt is all loud and clanky...and dead...

70s music was smooth...and full of life

80s music makes you feel old like when you listen to early to mid 2000 music...they both got that annoying loudness and clankiness...
