the way you describe music is different to me.

Example, a fan watches a game of football and sees it as pure entertainment. A football player watches a game and analyzes it. They study the game.

To me, your questioning isn't casual. Its analytical. Like you make a living doing it or you're very passionate.

The casual fan listens to an artist and hates or loves the music and keeps it moving. Never really questioning why. They just do.

The reason kendrick lamar has classic albums is because the casual fans say so. Those in the industry or the very passionate fans understand nuance a little better and can see his music may be lacking in areas other don't.

Just like the casual fan will say Richard Sherman or Patrick Peterson are the best corners in the league ignoring scheme fit while others know Darrelle Revis is because of his skill set.
