Future has his own lane....personally his music is overrated to me because it fails to jolt the mind and severely lacks depth but his fan base is massive so his lane is pretty solid.

Kendrick is a musicians muscian it's not just about rapping with his music it's about the entire project. You can tell he has a intricate way of putting music together. The same with Cole Wale and Krit. These are artist who appreciate the art of music. Artist like Future and Drake give me more of a different vibe. They care about what sounds good and catering to the popular sound out. They are not savants of music....at least that's not the vibe I get from them....

By the way, is TPAB about Black politics/excellence or Kendrick's fame? Pick one. Because you stans will shift depending on what's being discussed. Most mainstream rappers is flash over substance, getting carried only by production. i.e. Asap rocky. Kendrick is the one of the only rapper that's substance over flash and nikkas hate it. Nikkas on some bizzaro shyt.

Dude is just rapping to rap, there's no cohesive storyline.

Kendrick only has substance to Kendrick fans. Everyone else finds him disposable and flimsy.

ASAP Rocky makes way deeper music than Kendrick because his stylistic approach to rap is just deeper. How he mixes styles evokes emotion. Sure the lyrics aren't deep but no one ever pretended like Rocky is an intellectual. Hip hop (like music in general) is an emotion based art rather than an intellectual one.

Songs like "Palace" and "Bass" and "Brand New Guy" go way deeper than Kendrick's discog because they're just more meaningful in execution. The beats alone command more excitement, aggression and thoughtfulness than anything in Duckie's arsenal. Then you add Rocky's passionate delivery (e.g. Palace) and it's a win.

idk its a little bit of both. I know a lot of white people who love GKMC but think TPAB is trash. Then i also know a lot of white people who love TPAB, think its like the greatest album of all time and that everything kendrick does is amazing.
