Because as African-Americans we have trouble playing the long game. We never figured out that we can maintain a long standing wealth and economy by pooling our resources. Could you imagine of a bunch of sistas put their minds together and took over the beauty game, (weaves, wigs, hair products). Could you imagine if all the Black media moguls rose up and started one super station. But instead we would rather be the one eyed man in the land of the blind. Crabs in a barrel brehs.

A lot of reasons.

• Generational hate of self.
• Lack of belief in competence in our race.
• Outside forces dividing or buying us out once we have a good idea or movement.
• Lack of education (I don't necessarily mean college)
• Lack of follow through
• Lack of role models who have become successful "outside the box", any one successful moves to white communities.

The older I get, the more I realize integration may have been a bad thing. I really hate to say that. Our accomplishments get diluted, and I don't mean genetically...I mean, to keep that proverbial think tank going, like minded, successful people need to be around each other. Gangs nowadays aren't run on the same principles. Black figures are either dead or in jail and nobody respects the "old heads" it's all about the young cats putting work in the streets today. thing is when we came here, we all came from different tribes, languages, backgrounds etc. things that take societies centuries to build, we were stripped of. individualism becomes more important at that point. europeans JUST NOW started working within an umbrella, prior to that france, britain, spain were trying to give the country that work, loads of whites dying at the hands of other whites, but they all had identities.

most blacks are still having a tough time identifying with the country, for obv reasons, and even when they start, other blacks give them the so its an ongoing internal issue with other outside elements interfering.

As history has shown, there would literally have to be a very very tragic devastation that affects the entire group like a holocaust or all out war to actually unify in mass....unfortunately.
